So this is far less interesting than "I have never" but I figured with this polar vortex winter, my northern friends may appreciate!
I found this tutorial (
https://www.imperfecthomemaking.com/2012/01/tutorial-hooded-car-seat-blankies.html?m=1) to make a blanket for the car seat that has slot for the straps to come through. It is WAY safer than buckling our LOs in with a coat on and regular blankets fall off easy. This is a cozy, heavier blanket that actually swaddles your LO in strapped, it even has a hood! EASIEST thing ever. Materials cost me $11 and it took 45 mins to do. I already made one for Ari and one for my friend in OH with a two week old. Just thought I'd share for anyone who likes to craft, knows someone who does, and wants an easier way to bundle LO.
Here are some pix of the first one I made for Ari...she likes it!
