I've heard that you are supposed to take LO to the dentist at 1 year old to get them used to it. Have any of you done that? I'm not sure it's necessary yet..
Also, are you brushing LO's teeth and using toothpaste? I brush them daily to get DD used to it, but don't use toothpaste yet. If so, what toothpaste are you using?

We use Colgate toddler toothpaste. We brush their teeth nightly.
Our dentist said they don't need to see the kids until they are 2 or 3, whenever they have a chance of cooperating. DD will be in 3 in March and has her first appointment scheduled for shortly after.
Honestly? I'm glad we started early. DS was very comfortable with the whole process.

She's been doing better about opening her mouth so I can get at her molars- for a while I had to encourage the mouth opening by making really silly sounds that she wanted to imitate.
