Working mom question...

Since starting back to school 3 nights a week Cortlandt has been acting god awful for me when I am home with him. He is even acting just plain ugly for the babysitter and ended up having to sit in his room for an hour yesterday because he just wouldn't listen to her.

My question is if you ladies notice more acting out I'm guessing for attention on the days you are home with your LO's? I realize that all Cortlandt has ever known is having me home with him but he is only with a sitter for 1 hour a week and DH has them the rest of the time.

I honestly dread being home with him these days and he is making me really question starting a career! We need 2 incomes so it's not just for fun but if he is acting this way about not seeing me 6 hours a week what is he going to do when I'm working full time??!?!!

I have tried making him feel special by doing crafts with him which is his favorite thing to do, I read extra books with him and am always asking him to snuggle but nothing seems to make a difference!

Sorry this is a novel but I am just emotionally drained and am at a loss!

    I haven't really noticed this, but I've been working since LO was 3 months old, so I would also guess that it's more a change in routine reaction.  I bet he'll get used to things!

    I only have this LO but I recently starting being OOT for work 1 night a week. She gets super clingy/whiny when I am back. I have to hold her or be with her for the first day or two afterwards. I agree with amilyn that it is likely just a stage and since he is older he is acting out more. Keep the quality time up and hopefully he will adjust. Hugs!
