So long story short.... I'm currently 35 weeks 2 days. I have preeclampsia but without the high blood pressure and have been in the hospital since Tuesday being monitored.
Long version... I had my normal ob appt on Monday where they did a urine sample because I told my dr my urine has been darker in color than normal. After my labs came back she called and had me go in the next morning and do blood work. She called pretty much right after that came back and told me she wanted me to go in to see her right away. So I left work and drove straight to the clinic. Once I got there she came in and said she had talked to the high risk ob dr in a much larger hospital an hour and a half away and they wanted to send me down here because they thought I had HELPP syndrome (no idea what is it really... But my mom googled it and told me not to... Duh!) they admitted me to the hospital that is connected to where I would normally deliver to start me on an iv and put a catheter in (ouch!!!). About a half hour after that they transfered me by ambulance (didn't want me to drive in case my blood pressure would all of a sudden spike) down to the hospital an hour and a half away. My poor husband had to pack for himself me and the baby while I'm sure he was freaking out!! Once I got down here they did labs and they came back much better than they originally thought so they took me off the iv and took out the catheter and I was able to put my own clothes on (thank goodness. Much more comfy). They decided they would do a 24 hour urine test and determine what to do next from there. They did labs again yesterday morning and he said some of the liver function lab tests came back a little high but nothing to the point where they need to induce. Finally at about 530 yesterday (after about a million people got my hopes up by saying I would get to go home because everything was looking good) I found out that the protein in my urine was still just a little elevated so he wanted to keep me again over night and do labs this morning then talk to my normal dr and go from there. He said I will be on bed rest for sure until I deliver. He said I have preeclampsia but with really good blood pressure (105/67 was last nights). I always though they were directly related but he said that preeclampsia can present itself in many ways so high blood pressure isn't always the case.
Baby is doing VERY well. He is actually measuring large which is good in case something does happen and they have to take him early.
Thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated! I'm ready to go home and cook this baby a few more weeks in my own bed!!!
UPDATE
Still in the hospital. The dr last night made it sound like I was almost for sure going home this morning. Then I had a different dr this morning and he didn't even do labs before telling me I was staying for sure until tomorrow morning (frustrating after getting my hopes up again). They did labs around noon and my liver function test had improved so that was good. However my platelets went down. I haven't seen a dr since then so will be interesting to see what they say about everything. The nurse said they aren't bad enough to deliver but not good enough to go home. I'm glad they are being safe but it's hard not to just want to go home!! I'll keep everyone updated as I am SUPER bored today. I told my DH to go to work today so that we both don't sit here bored out of minds. Miss him but also probably good for him to get his mind off of everything for a little while!
