Preserving Wedding Dress

If you preserved your wedding dress, how did you do it? I want to go the cheapest route, but I need to do something fairly quickly since it has been over 3 years and couting. TIA!

I had mine preserved by the dry cleaner who cleaned it for me. It is in a box that has a display opening if I want to display it. I kind of feel like it is/ was a waste of money simply because I doubt DD will want to wear my wedding dress.

I feel the same way, but I at least need to research my options. Maybe I can talk my mom in to paying for it as a birthday gift.

I don't know if anyone will want it one day, but my grandmother framed the lace from her dress and I have it hanging in my house.

My dress was going to be $250 to clean and preserve.

I think it depends where you go the store I bought my dress at said it was $300 to clean and preserve. The dry cleaner near my home charged $50.

My dress needs to be cleaned, but I'm not sure it would do much good. Do red wine stains come out 3 years later? LMK.

I have a concoction of jack daniels, oj, cranberry juice and a beer down the front of mine....

I'm torn on what I want to do. I've looked into a few places around here. They were all about $300. My dress cost $350. It seems foolish to spend almost as much on he preservation as the dress. I don't want to get rid of it, but it don't know what to do with it.

I called a few local places. One was $150 and another was $300. Try calling a few dry cleaners in your area and see what they offer. The $189 isn't too bad from David's - I am sure it is a decent service since it is sold by a bridal store.

This is the route I went too. I want to say it was around $100. I can't imagine anyone else wearing it since styles change, but I couldn't bear the thought of not preserving it at the time. It's currently at the top of DD's closet bc that's the only out of the way place in our house where it will fit.

Total lurker, but I got mine preserved using David's bridal and I didn't buy the dress there! they even preserved my veil and garter. As PP said you pit it in the box, they clean it and preserve it and send it back in a nice display box. Totally worth the $99 I spent to get it done

Mine was like $140 to "preserve" and clean. Waste of money.

Quite a few of my friends reused their wedding dresses for Halloween costumes. I don't think I could bear to do that, I just have no idea why I'm holding onto it.
