FTM having issues shaving any advice

So FTM and My hair is growing fast... I shave my legs and my va-jaja and until lately it hasn't been a problem till tonight when in the shower I was dizzy when bent over to shave. I then changed to having a bath, but now my bump/ bloat is in the way making it really hard to shave. I don't have soft leg hair thats ok to grow a bit long I have course hair that need to be shaved every other day. ( not a problem befor) we live in a condo that has an indoor pool so I use it all the time and need help with a solution or a position... Cream hair removers don't work on my hair.
Any STM or on have any advice for me or am I destined to be hairy.

  • Haven't had too much trouble with legs yet, so no help, though I'd probably try to sit on the edge of the tub after a shower to take care of that.

As to the other area, I leave that to waxing.  Go every 4-6 weeks, takes maybe 10 minutes and is well worth the struggle to try and do it myself.
  • I agree with pp. waxing is the way to go. It takes no time, and lasts much longer than shaving.
  • For now I'm able to get my shaving done by sitting on the edge of the tub. It's not pretty but it works and it should work for quite some time yet. This there is less chance of getting dizzy as you are already sitting and not bending over as much.

  • Thanks ladies I am not able to afford the waxing options my town had to offer.( small town an would have to go to the spa and it's $$$) but I will try the edge of the bath tub with a mirror and if all else I'll get DH to help with legs and go with trimming my va-Jaja.
  • I had my DH do it when I got to big. I was so against it at first but I was like I have let complete strangers do a Brazilian wax...

  • With DS, a late August baby, I just stopped shaving once it became too difficult. If anyone had said anything they would have gotten the death glare. I got to a point where I was miserable and didn't care what anyone else thought. Good luck with finding a solution, all my suggestions where mentioned above.

  • I haven't shaved in over two weeks. It's on my to do list for today. I did find that it was easier to shave sitting on the side of the tub as I got bigger with DD. I'd definitely try that.

  • I just had the same experience last night..I told DH he was up next in line for shaving my legs...for the next 22 weeks..ha!
  • My first suggestion was waxing, but that's out of your price range. Its out of mine too or else I'd do it. So I'm pretty hair, but I live in the northeast and don't use an indoor pool so I don't care. Get DH to do it. Maybe it could lead to some fun ;)

  • I've done waxing before but it can be a bit pricey and after time you still have to do it.  Lets face it you have 5+ months to go.  I can get away with my legs like a PP mentioned I'm blonde and my hair is thinner, but I have had DH get involved in the process.  It may seem a bit "AHHHHH" at first but maybe its a easier solution.

  • Let's hear from an OB nurse if we have one here.... What would you say the ratio of shaved vs. unshaved women in delivery is?

I know I haven't been able to properly angle myself to see down there for a while (chubby monkey). I considered having DH (now stbxh) take care of it for me but we never got around to trying it.
  • I shave my legs at LEAST every other day, if not every day.  I'll be waxing once the belly becomes an obstacle for sure.

  • @gwennie357 mine doesn't mind much either...to a certain point.

But having him do it for me is seriously fun. He's done it to me even when I wasn't pregnant. He's so gentle, careful and precise.

It often leads to some very fun and sensual moments that we both love. And he gets to enjoy the fruits of his labor afterward haha.

  • I rarely shave my legs (I was blessed with sparse leg hair), and I just use an electric beard trimmer for my pubes. However, thats my preference and no one elses.

If I get to the point where I can't do that on my own, I'll probably just let it grow. I'm sure I won't give a shit about my 70's bush or hairy legs. Woman have hair, it's natural.

  • I use a trimmer for my crotch and I rarely shave my legs in the winter.  I think I nicked my vag yesterday while trimming the hedges.

  • I am scared to death of shaving my girly bits when I get larger.  One of my dear friends was shaving hers and cut off some of her pleasure bits!!!  Makes me squirm just thinking about it. I will be going the waxing with a landing strip method

I bought a personal trimmer for my lady parts.  It is not a close shave, but it works well for the most part.

You can also try a mirror, but as you get bigger, that gets harder.

By 30 weeks or so, I'd suggest getting some help from DH.  I know it is not glamorous, but he can (and should) help.  Or a mom, or sister... if you prefer or have that option.

Natural, yes, however 70s bush = swamp crotch in the summer.  Nooooo thank you.

  • I can't not shave. It creeps me out. It's the reason I vacuum my dogs (they like it. I have the dyson tool for it). I don't want hair anywhere but my head.

I would squat over a mirror so it was tidy. I just feel like it's a dirty mustache down there if I let it go.
