(Tally06) DS2 is here & perfect!

I had my regular OB appointment on Monday at 39 weeks, 1 day and was not dilated or effaced and my OB and I were saying how I would definitely make it to my RCS date later on in the week.

By the time I got home I was contracting. The contractions became regular and despite me hoping that they would go away they never did and I stayed up all night with every 5 minute contractions. At 9 am on Tuesday we dropped DS1 at my in-laws and headed to my OB's office who sent me immediately over to Labor and Delivery.

DS2 was born via RCS at 1:00 pm on February 4th at 39 weeks, 2 days and the surgery was as easy as can be.

My recovery has been awesome and DS2 is as cute as a button, an awesome nurser and as of now a super chill baby. We are actually being discharged today which is so, so great. We were in the hospital for what seemed like forever with DS1 and it was miserable. This experience has been a LOT more laid back.

DS1 is acting out a bit and just wants mom and dad home so it's good that we are getting out of here so fast. I want for this adjustment to be as easy for him as possible. My heart breaks thinking that he is anxious and unsettled.

Delivery and recovery from the C-section has been a breeze so now I am bracing for the hard part: taking care of a VERY active 2 year old and a newborn at the same time!

Congrats! Hopefully you have a smooth transition home. DS1 is still acting out a bit but as he figured out that I'm still here for him he seems to be settling in. We're only on day 3 of being home and I caught him explaining Thomas the train to the baby while I was getting his Bfast. They adjust quickly
