Sick toddler twins :(

First it was Noah with the congestion and cough. Then Monday Molly started throwing up. Then Tues night she power- puked all night. Then Wed night Noah threw up, and now the poor guy can't sleep because he is so congested. To complicate matters, I am new at my job and have no time off available. I took yesterday unpaid, which of course reflects poorly on me as an employee. I am utterly exhausted, and I flat-out don't know what to do about work today. DH took Monday off, but he has meetings tomorrow that he can't miss, and I cannot take more unpaid time since I would risk losing my job. We don't have any family nearby (closest family is 6 hrs away). No point to this post other than this working parent sh*t is awful.

I'm so sorry momma! I hope they are feeling better quick! Does your daycare provider have any employees that you may be able to hire privately for a day or two?

Wow that is the worst. I wouldn't know what to do!! That is the hard thing with having no family around and no one to call when they are sick. I have had to take some unpaid days when DH has been out of town when DS was sick. Doesn't go over well at work but there was no option. I don't even know how you ask someone to watch a sick kid?? I hope they are both feeling better soon. Hang in there

Thanks, everyone. We don't have a sitter (crazy, right?). Our daycare provider is a straight up SAINT of a woman who watches children in her home, so there is no other employee or anything like that we could call. She said to bring them anyway, because the mom of the other baby she watches is flexible and can keep the baby home, and the other kids she watches are old enough to understand they should stay away from the twins. Y'all, if my DCP ever quits on me, I am going to be completely inconsolable. She is an absolute life saver.

Ugh. You poor thing :-( I hope you figured something out. If your DH doesn't have meetings all day, maybe he could at least come home after that so you could go into work for part of the day. Maybe you could stay late to make up some time? ((HUGS))
