Ugh I'm sick

I seem to have picked up a cold suddenly and I'm totally paranoid lo is going to catch it from me. I know kids get sick and that's inevitable but he's such a little guy still that it worries me. I'm washing my hands a ton but that's all I really can do.

Just venting at 5 am.

Are you nursing? I think i read somewhere that they won't get colds you have because they are getting your antibodies for it.

This is a big fear of mine once LO gets here! I know you're struggling with BFing, if you're still managing I hope @keags5496 is right!!
Just take care of yourself (which you are! Lots of hand washing is good!!) and your little one the best you can. You're a fantastic mama!

Eta: just saw your post in another thread. Baby will still have some antibodies from you, and you're still doing a great job!

This is correct. Both DH and I got horrible colds when DD1 was 5 weeks and a terrible stomach virus when she was 5 months. She never got either! FX you feel better soon and LO stays healthy!!

I hope you feel better soon. Keep washing your hands a lot. That's all you can really do. Stock up on some saline spray and some of the nasal suckers in case he does get sick.

I got sick soon after I had one of the kids (can't remember which?!). I was completely paranoid, but they never got it. Like everyone else said, keep washing hands and take care of yourself. Get some rest and let DH handle the baby for a couple days. Feel better!

I'm sorry you are sick. I'm battling a nasty chest cold and I'm due in less than two weeks. I know it will pass to DH and my kids, and I fear they will have it when the baby comes.

I don't want to add to your fear, but DD#2 picked up a cold from heaven's knows where when she was 2 weeks old (and I was BF'ing). Luckily, it passed very quickly without much more than some fussiness. I was scared to death because she was so tiny, but it really went away very quickly without much intervention needed.

That stinks! I am sorry you are feeling sick with a LO to worry about, but like others said I am sure it will be OK if you are extra vigilant about washing your hands. Hope you feel better!
