  He used to sing it all the time & loved it. I sah with him & I just work on that stuff with him. But I always make it fun! Any educational stuff I do with him is fun stuff only!
  Yes h was being extremely immature. I was extremely upset when I wrote that & after I calmed down I had a chat with h telling hin how immature he was being. I reminded him that ds just turned 3. That he still knows his abcs but isn't into it right now.

  Umm..I get that it's not fun when you're kid does something great and won't repeat it...but he's 3. It's what they do.

  And admittedly H and I have fought over some stupid sh*t before, but he's upset over the ABCs? What?

  And I better get off the computer and get to work on the ABCs.

  Yea! He came in from working on the tractor in a bad mood & was taking it out on ds bc he wasn't interested in doing anything but playing. I told him to come home today in a good mood or he can stay in the shop.

  What does this even mean?  Granted, my son isn't almost 3, but even the 3 year olds I know aren't ever interested in doing anything but playing.  They're toddlers.  There's not much else for them to do other than eat, sleep, void, and play.

  If it's any consolation my DD just turned 3 and does not know her abc's.  It has never occurred to me or DH to be mad about that.  

  
  

  However, she does do a wicked version of "I Wear My Sunglasses at Night" and everyone seems to enjoy it.  Sometimes we want her to sing and she won't.  But again, she's 3.  Hardly worth being upset over.

  Yes ladies you are right! Thats exactly how i see it too. I was venting. Dh has since apologized. He has realized that he was wrong. He has not gotten off lightly. He was just frustrated bc ds didn't want to answer any question he asked him all evening which all started over the abc. Ds used to love singing it & bringing us the foam letters he has & telling us which letter it was. Ds said he was just aggreviated bc of the tractor thing. Stupid I know!
  Dh is a great dad. He just had a bonehead evening.
  I was just venting!!!
  I never expected or drilled ds to know his abc & counting. He used to just love that stuff.

  this is a ridiculous thing to fight over. You don't need to drill your kid on abcs or numbers, nor does your husband. Find something worth your time.

  Just so you ladies know, I dont drill my child with anything! I just provide that stuff & if he's interested in it then we play around with it. Dh was being foolish & quizzing him.
  I realize I'm coming across as defensive but we all make mistakes & yes dh made one.
  I nipped it in the butt before ds got upset. All is good here now.
