HCG Blood Tests?

I had a hcg test done today at 4weeks 4 days and it was 161. I've been spotting consistently for 10 days now so I'm hoping for a double on Wednesday's test. Fingers crossed!!
Anyone else have a HCG blood tests done and if so, what were your numbers?

Fingers crossed for you!! I was 77 at 11dpo and 254 at 13dpo. As long as your number doubles you're good!

FX for you! Mine were 28 at 17DPO and then 61 at 19DPO. Rose to 300 four days later. My doctor is happy for the doubling. Your number sounds fine, but it's the doubling that they'll be looking for.

You don't know what a relief it is to hear this! I was looking at charts of hcg levels and maybe I was just looking in the wrong place because they were saying that normal for 19DPO is around 1000... I was freaking out!

26 17DPO

47 19DPO

And I had 3 days of extremely heavy bleeding in the beginning, so it could be that I had late implantation (or some other crazy business) but my numbers are obviously very low, however progressing as they should.

I had my first draw Saturday (16 dpo) and my hcg level was 235.8. I went again on Monday and my levels were 548.something (I was so excited I don't remember lol) I go for one more tomorrow to see the 1000.00 + range.

The chart my hospital uses is:

3 weeks (5.8 - 71.2 )

4 weeks (95 - 750 )

5 weeks ( 217 - 7138 )

6 weeks ( 1158- 31795)

I got my first blood work done at 3w2d,last monday, and it was 87. I went yesterday for the 2nd blood test at 4w2d and it jumped to 1654!!!

Does it matter what your betas are, digit wise, as long as it doubles?

@AppleGrapeMSTK I don't entirely know. I know that doubles are the best sign. However, I also know that my doctor has been really on top of testing because my numbers started out so low. The thing about low numbers is that is means more time in the limbo period before anything can be seen, and so I think I'm being monitored pretty closely because of that.

@divinemsbee I ask because my tests have not been getting darker. I had blood drawn this morning, and I am waiting for a call back, but I worry that this baby won't stick. Am I reading too much into the darkness of the lines, you think?

Yeah, what I've always been told is that the darkness of the lines has more to do with the amount of dye in the test than hormones after a certain point. There's a pretty vast set of numbers that can be normal in early pregnancy. So hopefully your numbers look pretty good today (FX), but even if they're on the lower side, if you see the double that's a good sign. Are they checking your progesterone as well? Some docs automatically do, mine doesn't, but I talked her into it and I'm glad I did. My doctor doesn't think there's a link between early m/c and progesterone, but pretty much all of my research says there can be, so I'm on it now. I'm kind of a special snowflake with betas because of my previous losses, so if you're at a mid-range number and you double, they probably aren't going to check you all the way through.

My numbers are doubling and my test lines are not getting darker. It has to do with the brand and how diluted your urine is. I wouldn't worry unless your dr. is concerned about your numbers not doubling or them decreasing. (I know easier said than done)

I'm praying a lot tonight... still spotting a decent amount. I go in tomorrow for my 2nd Beta HCG and they are hoping for a 300+ or else they will know something is wrong. FX FX FX I just don't want another miscarriage again...

My numbers seem sooo high compared to you guys.

Last wednesday my numbers 1120 (17 dpo)

Friday 2320 (19 dpo)

Not 100% on those ovulation days they are just based on LMP

I feel like my levels are low also, I am at 201 (19DPO) Tomorrow morning I will go in for another blood draw to see if my levels are doubling. I am praying for all of us. I had 2 early m/c in 2011 and then got pregnant with my DS. Let's hope for doubling numbers!

I had really light positive pregnancy tests for 4 days. Went to the doctor and had blood work on the 4th day after my misses period (1/27) The next day they called me to say it was positive but my numbers were low and they wanted to retest and make sure the numbers were going up. That night I bled heavily and then medium to heavy for 3 days. The blood test was repeated (1/30) and it was negative.

leannsiiple It really depends on what ranges your facility use I guess. I had my second test today (48hours later) and it more than doubled!! I'm sure you will be fine... everyone is different.

I get my first draw results tomorrow. Pretty nervous. With my bleeding and what I've read I feel like my odds are 50%. Discouraging. Today I'm 5 weeks.

Same. I got my betas back yesterday at 19 DPO and my hcg was 2563. Each if the pregnancies I've had (including my MC) my levels were different. One thing I've learned is that everyone is a little different when it comes to hormone levels.

Hopefully everything will be okay. From what I've learned about pregnancy so far is that there are no rules and sure things. Some people that haven't been able to even get pregnant on IVF miraculously get pregnant normally after giving up. There's no rhyme or reason sometimes. Like me, after 3 years of trying I've been pregnant twice in 3 months now. I'm hopeful this time and trying not to get discouraged by the negative signs. I'm still bleeding too but my numbers are fine. Good luck!

How are your numbers??? I was thinking about you today.

Unfortunately I started more than spotting today... it has slowed down a bit, but still is not a good sign :-( My OB is letting me come in for another beta tomorrow.

Maybe I'm just overthinking things, but I swear I'm not as emotional today as I was yesterday... Ugggh, can't wait until I get through a 1st Trimester! So much worrying!

Ask them to check your progesterone when you do your betas again. Sometimes low progesterone can cause bleeding and it's an easy fix if caught early. GL!

My last PG was a m/c. When I had my draw this week, that hadn't been conveyed and they said insurance would only cover the prog/ hcg test if there's been a previous m/c.

I had a draw Monday and was supposed to go back Wed, but my number was so high, she said not to worry, just come in for an u/s this coming Monday to check on it.

I found out that it isn't a viable pregnancy today :-( totally sucks ass, but I kind of knew this would happen.

Just curious.

I called my dr's office to set up my initial appointment and told them I'd had a miscarriage last time so they offered an early appointment at 4 wks, 2 days. During the appointment the doctor said she would do betas so I didn't have to ask for them but I think the fact that I was there early due to mc was probably an indication to her that she should do betas. For my first pregnancy and before my loss, I wasn't offered an early appointment (1st was at 9 weeks) nor betas.
