Vaccinations - 2 months

We took DD2 to her 2 month appointment yesterday.  She is 11.8 lbs, 23 inches, and doing great.

She got 2 of her 3 vaccines yesterday (she is going back in a month for her rotavirus vaccine).

After the appointment, all evening, and even today, she doesn't seem like herself.  She has barely cried, or fussed. She hasn't had a fever. All she wants to do is chill out in her bouncy chair and watch everyone.

Did anyone's little one have this same reaction? Should I be concerned?

  • Thank you ladies.

That makes me feel a lot better.

Not that I really minded curling up with my little girl watching movies on a crappy day like this, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.
  • I'm sorry eldunlap! My LO had has his yesterday too. He is a little fussy last night and slept most of today but (maybe I'm crazy) he isn't talking like he did. Mak
  • Sorry! Making just ehh sounds when he was already OOO and ahh an ughh but I'm sure in a couple of days it will be back to normal.
  • So she's chilled out in her swing? Sounds horrible.

I never said it was horrible, I was concerned that she was being lethargic...
  • My pedi said they'd either be sleepy or fussy after the appt. I did read on another board that a baby was SUPER sleepy, like hours on end, and ended up having to go to the ER because they were actually having seizures or something in their sleep. So, valid concern. :) If your baby is awake and watching everyone, but just chill, I'd say that's a good thing. :)

  • Thanks Red_Dahlia.

Yeah, she is waking up for feedings on "schedule" and she'll stay awake and interact but she just seems kind of dopey.

She is just usually fussy at this time of day, but she hasn't been crying or anything.
  • Don't feel bad for being cautious. The potential for reactions can be scary and being concerned is normal IMO.
  • LO got her shots today. She slept afterwards for about four and a half hours then nursed. When she finished she got very fussy and had a slight fever. Glad your LO is taking it well. All babies are different but if you're concerned then I would definitely call the dr.

  • LO slept and slept and slept for several days following her 2 month shots, so it doesn't seem like anything to be concerned about. Your LO may just be chilling and not sleeping so much. If you'd feel better give your pedi a call to check.
