Sorry to be a debbie downer folks, but I'm having a rough day today and I cant really pinpoint exactly why.

Between all of us getting over the dreaded stomach bug from this past weekend, having to do mountains of laundry to wash away said germs, wiping/spraying everything down with Lysol, etc... I'm feeling mentally/physically exhausted. IDK if its just my body/head trying to regroup or what, but I'm feeling incredibly sobby and just very blah today. I've been lacking patience with my kid, MH, my dog, and just about everything lately. Now DS is at daycare since I have to go into work in a bit, but I'm feeling so incredibly guilty about everything.

I feel like I havent spent enough time just giving him good old one on one playtime/interaction lately (in part bc of all of us getting sick and then all of the household chores that followed) and I just feel awful about it. I've been slacking on the household chores like vacuuming, tidying up, and cooking healthy dinners. I feel like I'm stuck in such a rut today.

Plus, MH just got an offer for a job starting sometime this spring that we may possibly be moving out to Ohio for. The prospect of being even further away from family/any type of support system scares the fuck out of me. My head is spinning with a million different thoughts.

Sorry to be an eeyore...I'm just struggling a little today. I dont want to go to work. I just want to pick up my kid and give him a huge hug. I hate feeling like a shitty wife and mom.

Sorry you are having a rough go of it. I am depressed because my DS is not letting me get any sleep and this fucking weather is like groundhog day.

Your LO will be fine. I am sure you are giving him attention. I know I feel like that sometimes. I will be sitting at work and think "Gosh, I need to do something with DD tonight because last night I sucked."

@EVA116 Thanks. Thats pretty much what im saying to myself right now. I've been sucking lately snd really need to get my shit together. This nasty cold, wet weather isn't helping. Hust feeling cooped up and in a rut, KWIM?

Also, I'm bummed bc by the time I get out of work it'll be like 11pm and DS will already be sleeping. :-( I'll have to make it up to him tomorrow.

Just remember young kids won't remember your few off days. Just try to make a mental note to play more. My day is good except my fwp of my damn dishwasher has been broke for 2 months and just had someone come look at it today. 78$ service charge but 350 to fix-eff that dude. Booo. It's been one thing after another here but just trying not to let it make me insane. Hugs to you.

Mom guilt sucks and it does not go away. I feel like if I play with DD too much then I am not giving enough time to DS. We are just doing are best. Feeling sick is the worst. Give yourself a couple more days.

Maybe try and plan something fun to do. Something to look forward to.

yeah whenever I have to plow massive amounts of house work, it's loud music - all day long. That really helps me. I have tons of playlists for situations as well, so it just takes a second to cue.

As far as shitty days, im right with you. I only get to spend weekends with my family because stupid job is too far away, and this last weekend was really shitty. Our boy basically cried the entire weekend, no neither of us got any sleep. Couldnt find a sitter so no date night - we basically didnt have a moment to ourselves the entire weekend. Monday rolls around I have to leave town again and I havent been able to shake the shitty weekend yet.

Yeah...this friday, DS and I are taking a day trip to visit my mom so that will be fun.

And yes, the mom guilt is the absolute worst.

It's now a balmy 50 degrees in my office, and -2 outside. A water pipe broke in the building, so now we have no water. If we have to use the bathroom, get a drink of water, we have to go across the street.

My Dh is at a work seminar for 5 days and I'm drinking my sorrows away with boxed wine. He's super hands on and definitely my team mate in this parenting thing so I'm just exhausted and lonely. My closest family is 10 hours away and I have 0 friends where I live because we're relatively new to the area. I'm feeling stir crazy and really wish I had a friend or family member near. I never thought it'd be so hard to find a mom friend. I signed up for something called "moms meet moms" and was messaging a mom who lived near by and the second I told her I had "liberal ideals" (because she asked) BOOM she blocked me and we stopped messaging. Womp womp.....

My day got off to a shitty start. Literally. Warning gross...

Dog decided to shit her bed this morning. Never asked to go downstairs to be let out. Our bedroom door was open. So she just laid in it until DD noticed and I yelled at her to go downstairs. Um ya had to clean shit in my room down the stairs at the bottom of stairs. She's outside for the day. Of course I have no carpet cleaner in the house so cleaned as best as I could. Ugh and DD is driving me crazy as she won't leave the cat alone. Need drinks and bedtime.

All of us have this nasty cold. DS1's school has been closed all week. I had to cancel DS2's MRI because of this cold. He needs to be sedated but they don't intubate so he cant' have any type of congestion. They couldn't get us in for 2 more weeks!

The snow!!!! I'm getting so sick of it. between snow and our schedule my boys have had therapy in weeks. DS2's therapists have either cancelled or it's snowing. And DS1 only gets therapy at school.

We're all going nuts in our 800 sq ft. I can't even take them anywhere to get their energy out because it's solid ice outside.
