Anyone else raising a bat?

The first two times this has happened I thought it was cute. But this has been going on for a week - whenever I give LO the bottle and she's not tired, the first half of her meal she will spend it upside down, no matter how I hold her. When I lay her down, she arches her back. She doesn't seem in discomfort or pain, I'm assuming she's just perfecting her belly-up inchworm crawl....

Re: Anyone else raising a bat?

  • Yup. It doesn't bother me except when he tries to do it during swimming lessons. Not cool LO not cool.

  • Hahaha I have a bat, too. It'd be nicer if he would detach from my boob before trying to swing backward >.<

  • Yep. My LO has wanted to be upside down for 2 months now, strange.
  • She arches her back sometimes but nothing regular. They were upside down in utero, I guess it's still comfortable for them.

  • Yes! She loves to be upside down!

DD flings herself off my boob and over backwards, swings herself back up again and nurses, goes backwards and hangs upside down off my lap sometimes when she nurses.  Over and over.  It's hilarious!

    Same thing over here!

Keenan does this too, during his back floats. I'm tempted to let him dunk himself, but I'm not sure that would stop him.

  • Yes. LO loves this. It's a good way to get belly laughs out of him.

  • @ilovemyducks21 it doesn't. Today he discovered face planting in the water with his mouth open. He screeched at me when I tried to stop him. He thought it was great. Although this is also the child who sucks on his foot while floating on his back so he maybe just weird.
  • @fabk - It's not just yours. LO also sucks on his feet while back floating. He also tried to suck on his rubber duckie while it's underwater. Didn't work out so well for him.
