DS has this around 7 months old.  He didn't have the sores on his hands or feet...just in his mouth.  Just give Tylenol/ibuprofen around the clock for the fever.  Also, it'll help with him eating/drinking.  DS didn't want anything to do with a bottle while he had the mouth sores!  The fever only last a couple days for him.

Oh no!!!!!  I'm so sorry your LO has HFM.  My daughter had it at 7 months, and, to be quite honest, it was brutal.  She would scream every time I offered the breast or the bottle because of the sores in her throat.  And she didn't sleep for about 3 nights.  There was a lot of night rocking and walking, trying to console her.  Eventually she would get so hungry and so sleepy that she would nurse, then pass out for a few hours.  I alternated Ibu and Tylenol every 3 hours in an attempt to keep her comfortable.  Good luck!!

B had this last month. He had a 105 fever for 2 days and then the rash for 4-5 days after.

I gave Motrin/Tylenol every 3 hours around the clock to keep the fever down and offered bottles all the time to keep him hydrated.

He was pretty lethargic for a couple days but after the fever broke he started getting back to normal.

Hopefully it's not too bad. It's horrible when they're sick.
