TTC #2 questions

Hi!  Im typically over on the preemie board, but hoping that you all don't mind me posting over here every so often.

I have classic PCOS and  got pregnant with my DD in May of 2011 while on letrozole.  I had a few failed clomid cycles before that and a uterine septum resection. Virginia was born 15.5 weeks early due to an incompetant cervix but is doing really well now.

I have since gotten a transabdominal cerclage in preparation for another pregnancy.  Unfortunately things haven't been going smoothly while TTC #2.  After trying on our own for 5 months we went back to the RE.  HSG revealed that I had 2 polyps a blocked tube. The blocked tube is most likely from a major internal bleed after my c-section.  I had another hysteroscopy to remove the polps and some more of the remaining uterine septum in October.  I am now in the 2ww for my 3rd letrozole/IUI cycle.  If this fails we will be moving on to IVF.

Any PCOSers here that have done IVF?  Can you share your protocols?  

Im struggling with the idea of moving on to IVF given that we got pregnant with oral meds/ TI last time.  Unfortunately injectable meds are not an option for us due to the risk of multiples.  

Other details that may be helpful:
AMH 5.5
day 3 FSH 4.8; E2 42
DH's SA has always been good - >100m ; 90% motile post wash at last IUI

    I don't have PCOS, but I am facing the possibility of moving onto IVF after IUI worked for us last time. I can relate to that frustration. I am sure others here will have experience to share with you. I just wanted to say congratulations on your sweet little girl! I read her story on your blog. It's so great to see her doing so well :) Good luck with #2!

    IVF #1 w/ ICSI + PGS: Lupron/Follistim/Menopur
    ER 4/13 - 19R, 13F, 4 PGS tested embryos, 1 normal
    5/14 FET: BFP. Beta #1: 123, Beta #2: 327, Beta #3: 854
    Cora arrived 1/23/15 via RCS!

    I have no advice :/ I have pcos as well and had to do injects with iui to have two successful pregnancies. Congrats on your new little one!

    Questions.."Unfortunately injectable meds are not an option for us due to the risk of multiples." Is there a reason besides the pcos not to do injects?  

    Married: 5/09 ~ TTC Since: 10/10 ~ PCOS ~ Progesterone from 10/10 - 2/11 ~ HSG on 3/18 - Clear ~ Started Metformin 1000mg & Clomid 50mg 2/11 ~ Metformin upped to 1500mg 4/6 ~ 6/7 Now going to SG and put on Clomid, Ovidrel, Gonal F, Prometrium, Estrace ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP!!!!!! March 6th our little man was born. 

    6/17/13 - Ovidrel, Follistim, Prometrium ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP! March 17th our St. Pattys day baby arrived

    10/29/17 - Started process for IVF, got pregnant & miscarried a 2nd time since summer. 2/22 started stims - Menopur, Gonal F, Cetrotide - retrieval 3/6 - , PIO, estrace 3xday - FET 4/18 = Beta 1: 616; Beta 2: 1342 = BFP

    thank you!  good luck to you too. Are you getting a second opinion before you move on to IVF.  I am considering one, but dont want to make things more confusing or difficult than they need to be.

    Because of my history of an incompetant cervix we are nervous about multiples even with the transabdominal cerclage.  I feel pretty confident that twins would be ok (albeit difficult, obviously) but triplets would be very very problematic.  My DDs difficult pregnancy and 124 day NICU stay has made me very very cautious.

    Gotcha. That is such a long time. so glad she is healthy!

    We tried for about 2 years before moving on to IVF.  I had to do multiple injections and pills to get my follicles to where they wanted them.  At the retrieval they got 8 eggs and it ended up that we got 5 embryos out of them.  So then when it came time for transfer we put 2 embryos in.  We were fine with the thought of twins so that really didn't scare us.  After the transfer we found out that the other 3 didn't freeze so we were really bummed about that since we were thinking we might have to go this route someday for #2.  We were very blessed that it worked on round 1 and we had our DS 8/26/13 and he is perfect in every way possible.  We are actually actively trying for #2 right now in hopes that we are able to do it on our own this time (or with minimal help).  Our doctors told us our best chance would be right after #1 and luckily he is such a good baby that we were ready for it.  IVF is expensive so we want to avoid that but if necessary we will go through it again.  Hope that helps and good luck.
