I just bought a couple black long night shirts from department stores to wear since they wouldn't show any leakage or blood. Honestly I just bought them to labour in. Once the baby is here I will be in stretchy yoga pants and a tank top like I did with DS.
I got mine from Kohls. It was pink, cute and fluffy, which I was grateful for compared to the hospital robes/gowns but also inexpensive. Go cheap, trust me. You don't want to buy an expensive robe from victoria's secret only to have it ruined.

I got a gown and robe at my baby shower which i wore maybe 6 hours after delivery? My friend got it from Kohls. I actually didn't have too much bleeding after delivery. Not enough to where I had to worry about ruining any clothes. Which is why I changed out of the hospital gown. It was a nursing gown a well which was so nice compared to the hospital gown. I felt so naked trying to nurse with the hospital gown. I had a lot of unexpected visitors and I hated feeling so naked when I heard knocking at the door. At least with the Kohls gown I didn't have half my upper body exposed. Even if I did ruin the gown, it would have been worth it to me.
Check etsy.com that is where I ordered mine! You can pretty much pick what ever color, style and size because there are so many people who make them! Mod Mum is the name of the etsy store I ordered from. Good luck!
My grandmother bought me a hospital gown, but I ended up returning it, using the credit to buy a robe and slippers. I agree - there's a pretty big chance you'll throw it away. I'd rather spend money on something I can use afterwards too.
I don't know if it was only for the holiday, but Family Dollar sold robes for $5. I haven't been in there in awhile to know if they are stil there, but I should give it a shot to see, I'd rather buy comething cheap and ruin it, b/c then I wouldn't even worry about it. I did get a gownie for $10 on either Ebay or Amazon.
Found a great nursing pj set with robe, tank and pants at babies are us this week. They're having a huge sale that all the nursing pj's are 70% off. Think it's going on until the end of the month

I stayed in the hospital gown until morning (LO was born at 11 PM) then changed into a nursing tank from old navy /baggy pj pants and light robe from Walmart, and used the hospital supplied mesh panties. I'm glad I went with the baggy pants, they were easy to push up and down when being checked by nurses.

I had a cheap nightgown and robe from target - it wasn't specifically for nursing but had kind of a crossover top that made nursing easy. I ended up in the hospital a week, and MH bought me another nursing nightgown and robe from motherhood. I still have both of them and neither of them got bloody or gross.
During labour and delivery I'll just wear the hospital one. In the postpartum I'm buying some pajama pants and tops from Walmart and Old Navy.
Diddo. I'm Checking out Old Navy today.
When I had LO#1, I stayed in the hospital gowns. It was summer and record highs while I was in the hospital. I want something warmer now since it's November, but nothing expensive etc.
I couldn't wear pants after delivery. I didn't even try until we were leaving the hospital. I felt like I was getting up to pee or change my pad or have my vag checked like every hour.
I loved the hospital gowns and just stayed in those and mesh panties. I did have a cotton robe from Target that was nice and cheap for walking the halls during labor.
I didn't bring my own last time and was miserable in the hospital gown this time I'm going to bring something of my own this time. I'm thinking a nursing nightgown from motherhood. They have clearance ones all the time so if you do bleed on it oh well and if your like me and wear the depends you don't have to worry about leakage! Though most women on here say the pads at the hospital are good enough they really aren't you will leak all over yourself if you just wear those. Target also has some tshirt gowns too.
Re: Maternity Gown and Robe for Hospital
