Two Under 2

Baby wearing

Just looking for some feedback on favorite carriers for infants when 2 under 2. My girls will be 13 months apart and I live in Chicago, so we walk a lot. I have a pikkolo carrier, but was thinking a moby or k'tan might be better in the infant phase?

Re: Baby wearing

  • My favorite carrier for a newborn is a ring sling and my baby hawk mei tai.  If you're wanting a stretchy wrap looking to a Wrapsody Bali stretch wrap.  They are not nearly as warm as a Moby and it stretches different so it can be used with older babies also.

  • Ring sling or Ergo with infant insert.  The moby was too complicated for me to figure out while trying to chase a toddler!

  • I like my Moby, it takes a few tries to a pro but it works well w. my 2u2 17mo apart
  • For my first one, I made this one, and it was fab. I'm planning on making another for this LO. https://www.hobomama.com/2009/11/winner-of-mei-tai-giveaway-and-how-to.html?m=1

So easy. It's no sew. You literally just mark the felt with chalk and cut it out. I wasn't wild about it when she got bigger (then we switched to an Ergo), because I never felt like I tied it tightly enough, but I really, really loved this for a teeny baby.
  • I used a baby ktan for the infant stage, I liked it a lot. when he got older I switched to the ergo.

  • If I knew then what I know now I'd have gotten a Bali Baby Stretch over a Moby. I do love my Moby but the Bali can be used so much longer! For wraps, I also have a Little Frogs, a Didy and a Wallypop. I liked Ring slings for a bit and have 3 of them as wwll! The LF is my favorite but all have their uses and are loved among the girls!

Absolutely in love with our 'big' family!

I'm also a proud Auntie to a crazy little girl, her brand new baby sister, a little man on his way in the next month, and a sweet little mister we will miss forever!!!
  • I used a Moby when DS was little and then switched to a Beco (around 4- 5 months).  The Moby isn't really that complicated and there are a few wraps that you can do before you put baby in so you can wrap at home before you leave and then just slip them in wherever you.
