STMs who previously used the RNP...

When did your LO grow out of it? LO hates the crib but dos great in the rnp. The longest she has slept in the crib is 4.5 hours(once), and she'll do 6-8 hours in the rnp. I know she'll eventually sleep in the crib and I try to nap her in there as often as I can and try it every couple of nights, I was just wondering how much longer I have with the rnp. We didn't have one for the other 2 kids. It has been a godsend!

  • About 5-6 months if I remember right. Basically don't want them in there once they can sit up.

I also used it last time until dd2 was 6 mos. However she was colic and it was the ONLY place she would sleep. So I may have let her sleep in it too long for my sanity. The crib was a struggle for us for about a week (at 6 mos) but eventually she stopped fighting it and loved/s her crib!! Eta: wasn't finished. I have learned with his being my third to just go with it. Everything is a phase and will pass if your lo isn't loving her crib right now and sleeps like an angel in he RNP go with it. You will know when she has out grown it and its time to make that change. Good luck!!
Thanks for the encouragement, I couldn't agree more! This is my 3rd as well and I am just doing what I can to get some sleep! My 2nd child was a HORRIBLE sleeper, so I am loving the stretches we get from the rnp! Of course the crib transition is hanging over my head, but I am definitely not worried about it at this point. She will eventually sleep there! I figured even if it's a few months from now when she grows out of it and we have a few sleepless nights in the crib, she will get use to it and that is better than not sleeping at all these past 2 months!

Couldn't agree more! We need sleep to be good mommies so do what you need to do! Especially if she will sleep that long.. Seriously jealous.
lol our 2nd was a TERRIBLE sleeper her whole first year, so this LO is being nice to us to make up for it :)

  • I'm agreeing with all this.  Ben does his first stretch in the swing (not turned on) then goes in the rnp after that.  Otherwise he would be up every 1 or 2 hours and I just physically can't be a SAHM to 3 little kids on 45 min increments of sleep each night. We will deal with the repercussions at a later time!!

  • I moved him right at 3 months, cold turkey. He did great. I didn't intend for baby 2 to do ôvernights in it at all, but I can't get him switched yet. They love that RNP!
