LO starts half a day a daycare this Friday

They have asked for a copy of her birth certificate. As a FTM i am clueless. Is this normal? This is a small at home daycare not a big facility.

Maybe to verify age in case they are inspected? I know they have regulations on how many babies under 2 they can have.

We've never been asked for that at our centers. I'd just ask why they need it.

I am a director of a childcare center and in my state, we do not require BC to be on file... I can't think of a reason any state would, but if I were you I would just call your local agency that is in charge of child care licensing and ask them. Usually the state department of health and environment or your county health department can point to the person you would need to talk to.
