Trouble TTC

New to ttc

Hello, My husband and I have been ttc for over a year. We have gone to fertility docs and are currently going through our first round of IUI. I have a variant of pcos, I am pre diabetic, a little over weight. My husband's sperm is good so no issues there. I'm wondering if anyone can give me some directions as to where to post for people doing similar things or in similar situations?

Re: New to ttc

  • You've come to the right place!  Trouble TTC is chock full of girls in with very similar situations!  I have PCOS too, and my DH is in good shape, we've been trying for 18 months.  We are on our second IUI.  Welcome to the board, I hope your stay is short!  :)

  • I'm glad I found the right page. Even tho I don't know you I'm glad to hear you went to the doc...I hope they help you.
  • Thank you. So I guess we just wait and see if the sperm swims to the egg right? There isn't anything else we can do? Do you ever feel like its all your fault or ashamed cause you can't get pregnant on your own?
While I know the issue is with me I don't really allow myself to feel guilty about it. I know I didn't cause this and I couldn't prevent it, it just the way it is. My DH is a sweetheart too and has never made me feel bad about it or made me feel ashamed or guilty, I think his support helps me keep a healthy mindset. I was also diagnosed years before we started TTC so I think we were a little more emotionally prepared for a fight. Best of luck!

  • So for those of you who have done IUI I'm wondering if you have had pain that started hours afterward? It's not bad just mild and uncomfortable. Sort of feels like I ate too much.
  • Mvogel111, welcome and sorry you have to be here. It is a great place to let out frustrations and these girls are awesome. I am getting my first IUI tomorrow so I can't help you with that, but I assume some cramping is normal.

I would call your doc if it continues into tomorrow. I hope your stay is very short!!
  • Thanks richbaby2014....good luck tomorrow and the next day if they do it twice....thanks for the advice. Yes they will tell you some cramping is normal this just ant like period cramping
  • So for those of you who have done IUI I'm wondering if you have had pain that started hours afterward? It's not bad just mild and uncomfortable. Sort of feels like I ate too much.
Yes! I definitely had the feeling that you are describing. For me, it lasted a few days. It was so minor that I didn't think too much of it. Plus, my RE mentioned that I could experience cramping later.

We all have those moments when you feel like what did I do to deserve this, or why me... And I really really struggled with this last year around august.  It didn't feel like we were getting anywhere and I couldn't do it on my own and my husbands tests all came back normal, and I couldn't figure out what was "wrong with me." Believe me when I say it's an understatement when they say it is an emotional rollercoaster. I have my own ways of coping and you will find yours too... but don't put yourself down because you need to be your own number one supporter! And just remember that when you are feeling down or you don't know what in the heck is going on there is a great group of ladies here to help you through it.

I am sorry you find yourself here but welcome and feel free to post questions you have or chime in when you think you can help someone else.  Good luck and I hope your stay is short!

TTC Since October 2012.  I’m 27 and DH is 30

DH: 4 SAs, all came back normal, blood testing 6/13-9/13 all normal

Me: 03/13 irregular cycles, hypothyroidism diagnosis

3/13 full blood panel showed normal results except thyroid

5/13 regulated hypothyroidism, regular cycles again

6/13 day 21-24 blood testing came back normal

6/13-9/13 DH testing with Urologist- normal

11/13 ultrasounds and full hormonal blood panel were normal

12/13 OB consult, day 3 blood tests and HSG ordered

01/14 HSG results normal, day 3 blood tests are normal

Just hoping that AF will back off and give me a chance to take a pregnancy test! All are Welcome!!

Welcome to 3T... You can find this board is very supportive and has a variety of people with advice. Also check out the Infertility board as well. Most people once pregnant will be released from their RE to OBGYN between 8-10wks... My RE office can not see patients after 10wks.... Good luck to you

  • So our first IUI was unsuccessful. We start our new cycle today and I'm hoping for the best. I also hope the sadness of the first will subside soon.
