I would say it's best to buy a dress with lots of growing room... Because you may need to special order the dress. But you may want to consider that you might go into labor early, and/or be to uncomfortable to attend the wedding. I'm not saying it's impossible, but for me, personally I wouldn't feel up to it.

  • Do you have to get from the bridal shop or can you order online? There are tons of options to choose from online but you want to get something a few sizes larger, has tons of room in the front (but that far along - get a maternity dress) and I would order 2 months before. Good luck! I got stuck in a regular bridesmaid dress and i was moh and had to have the whooooole front of the dress remade! Cost a good 500 at the end of the day.

  • I am in a wedding March 15 and am due May 18.  I did not order a maternity dress, but I wore a size 8 pre-pregnancy and I ordered a size 16.

I would be a little worried about the baby coming early, but everyone is different.  Dress wise, just order a few sizes up from what you are now.
  • Buy a dress that is cut right below your breast and a size or two bigger. I was a bridesmaid and found one at davids bridal that worked great.
  • Don't just think about the size of your belly -- your breasts will also likely be a  size or too bigger by then, and your ribcage will be bigger.   I agree than an empire-waist dress is your best bet, but would also recommend some kind of stretchy fabric if you can (like jersey).    And ask the bride if she minds you wearing flats -- heels could be miserable!
