Flu = dying TMI

I just need to vent now that I can actually move my fingers to type. I felt like I was getting a bad cold this weekend and woke up this morning feeling like shit. We had a delay so I pushed through and went to school. By 12:00, I literally felt like I was going to die. I've never felt like this in my life. I went to the dr right after school and got tested for the flu (had the shot already) and it was positive. She prescribed tamiflu and I started violently throwing up for over an hour. Like couldn't breathe and chugging water so I could throw up sick. My husband called the dr because I literally thought I was dying and she prescribed anti nausea medication. I finally just had my first sip of water and kept it down. So I guess on top of venting, how long will this last?? I've never had the flu before and hope to god and all that is holy I never get it again. I wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy. I had mastitis twice and that is a walk in the park compared to how I felt.

    Oh my goodness this sounds awful. Thoughts and prayers your way for a speedy recovery. I had the flu once years ago and it lasted for a week. But I felt weak for a couple weeks after that.

    Ugh, I"m so so so sorry. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

    Thanks everyone. I just ate a whole saltine and kept it down...success! I actually feel somewhat better today but I can't get over how bad I felt yesterday. Worst part is LO finally said Mama yesterday and I'm currently listening him calling Mama from his crib and I can't even go get him. That makes me want to cry! :(( @JSS1002.....please go get the shot...today!!!
    @skidderdo...I've been sipping on Gatorade throughout the night. Not as much as I should, but hopefully I'll be able to drink some more today.

    it actually sounds like you have a co-infection. a stomach thing and the flu. plain old flu doesn't usually make you puke. of course, being sick with the flu and a stomach bug on top of it just makes each thing so much worse.
    i'm glad the anti-nausea stuff is helping you keep food down. i hope you feel better really soon.

    TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!

    Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
