I just ordered the stuff to make my own cloth diapers. I have a pattern. And MIL said she would help me navigate it if needed. My husband will be impressed if I can actually pull this off!!

This pattern: https://www.mammacandoit.com/Diaper-Patterns/One-Size-Diaper-Pattern.html I got red PUL for the outer, white micro fleece for the inner and white snaps. I wanted something for v-day that could still be worn beyond February. Should have my supplies in a week to start working on them. I will post pics as I go!

I got sick of not finding what I wanted in a diaper. I like the hip bums diapers that I stumbled across (only bought them because they were Dr. Seuss and ended up loving them) but they don't have a very good selection on patterns/colors so I figured I would make my own!

Never too late to learn!

I think most craft stores do beginner classes for these kinds of things. Or you could use YouTube videos. I learned to knit off of YouTube. And sewing patterns are so broke down anymore that it's not too bad to follow along.

They are super easy to sew. I've made 95% of my stash and I love them.

Oh in love this thread. I've been going back and fourth between filling online carts with diaper stash and other online carts with diaper making stash.

I just dusted off my sewing machine and am starting with cloth wipes to warm up. I even told DH that he is buying me a serger for my bday. Overkill until i see if I can stick with my plans!

There is so much info online now. I was able to get some new GmD PF for crazy cheap and am going to start with some PF to Fitted conversions. Then I'm hoping to work on some inserts, covers, pockets and soakers. Plus it is satisfying my nesting urge since I don't have much else to don at this point!

Google make, laugh, love. They have a forum (you have to join to see any posts and I think it took 24 hour or so to be approved) that is all about sewing diapers. They have other stuff too but I was pointed in that direction by a friend for the CD making board.

I pretty much only sew pockets. I don't care for AIO's anyway, so I didn't want to make them. And I think the quality of the GMD prefolds can't be beat, so why try?

So far I have used the Darling Diapers pattern and the Fattycakes. I'd say that I prefer the fattycakes, but most of that has to do with the way the diaper fits my kid.

And for your viewing pleasure...my fav diaper.

I love it!! I have heard good things about fatty cakes. I might try it next it I don't like this one.
