Silicone Baking Dishes (NBR)

Does anyone have these?  I've got a few and I tried to make banana bread in the bread pan one a few times.  It always ends up tasting funny.  If you cut off the edges that were touching the silicone bakeware, then it tastes fine.  Anybody use these without getting a weird flavor in their food?

Re: Silicone Baking Dishes (NBR)

  • I think they are all Kitchenaid.  The bread pan is anyway.  I have a muffin pan one that I haven't tried yet.  Do you use cupcake liners when you use the muffin/cupcake one?  Or do you bake it straight in there and they seem fine?

  • I have a cupcake kitchen aide one that I love! I use cooking spray but no paper liners. Never noticed a funny taste.
  • Well he'll I need to make muffins I was always so worried about them not coming out I sprayed still. My night is looking up :D
  • I love mine, never notice any funny tastes. I also have silicone liners for my other pans.

  • I had a Martha Stewart red silicone baking sheet that smelled terrible every time I baked. I eventually threw it out.
