What to do - winter weather question.

I live in Central Illinois and we are just starting to see the latest winter storm arrive. DH and I are struggling with our decision on whether or not we stay in town where we work and where the hospital is, or if we should travel back home after work this evening. On a normal day our trip to get to the hospital would only be about thirty minutes, but with 8 inches of snow predicted for this afternoon into tomorrow, our trip to get to the hospital could take and hour or two. We are 39 weeks, 1 day and doctor will be stripping my membranes at the appointment we are headed to in a few minutes.

Ask your doctor. I would lean toward staying in town where you work and where the hospital is.

I'd stay in town. If you don't go into labor, then you can just enjoy an evening with your H watching HBO.

Why are you having your membranes stripped? Unless there's some reason that baby needs to hurry along, I would skip the strip and just go home. Baby might need another week or two to cook!

If you're having your membranes stripped I'd definitely stay in town. No reason to take a chance!

It's none of my business, but I don't understand why you would be having your membranes stripped? If there is some reason in particular, then I would stay in town.

Too risky, stay in town! Go to walmart or target or something and get video games or board games and get some take-out. Stripping your membranes is supposed to speed things along, and while it's unlikely to throw you into labor, it's probably not worth the risk.
