Play dough lovers?

Do your kids love play dough yet? DS could use some fine motor work (he points with his middle finger on his left hand), so I made some play dough for him to play with it. He poked at it for a while, and copied what I did with it, like cutting it with a pretend knife or squeezing it, but he was over it in about 10 minutes. Are other kids digging into play dough yet or is this typical for what your kids do?

  • Robert doesn't really get it. He drops it on the floor or eats it.

  • Avery loves it. She will play with it for an hour at a time. She is constantly pulling the tubs out and asking to play with it.

This is what Ava did too. We'll try again in a month or so.
  • One of my mom friends bought some and put kabob sticks down in it, then gave her son Cheerios to put on them.  She said he never played with Playdoh first, but loved that game.  We don't have Playdoh, but have done it with sticks I had left from making cupcake toppers and he's loved it, so dough is on this week's shopping list!

  • I feel like Zachary would just try to eat it, but as we are probably going to be snowed in for a few days, I might stop and get some tonight on the way home.

  • We don't have play dough, but my parents gave her a sandbox for Christmas that has that polymer/sand blend stuff in it.   She'll play with it for 25-30 minutes and it's very similar in activities.   Squishing it together, stamping it with random objects, smashing what I build, etc.
