Ultrasound Freakout!!!!!

My doctor ordered his normal 31wk ultrasound in order to get measurements on the baby today. He said that the baby is measuring in the 50th percentile, fetal movement and heart rate are great, everything looks great! However, and this is what has me on edge, when they did the measurement on his head, there is is small line of fluid that is measuring just a hair (he stressed that is was barely over the normal measurement range) over what it should measure. The doctor said that he really thinks this is nothing and will need no treatment of any sorts, just wants to follow up in 4 weeks with another ultrasound. This is my 3rd child but my first issue in any of my pregnancy and despite my doctors optimism, I am freaking out.......Anyone know anything about this or have been through this? I guess this is just the overly concerned mother coming out in me.....

    You can't help your natural response to unexpected news. But if your doctor were concerned, he would send you to a specialist, to have a more advanced scan. He absolutely would with no hesitation, so the fact that he is not should give you comfort that he's not concerned. Also, the scan done in his office is not exactly state of the art technology - it's like an alien on a fuzzy tv - so if it was just a hair over normal then it's probably fine, as your doctor said. Try to push it from your mind - there's nothing to be done about it one way or another at this point, so focus on your doctor's calm manner.

    Thank you for that, guess I just want to hear it from another mother. Gives me more peace of mind.
