Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Woot Woot! We got rid of the soother!

DD is 22 months old and was till getting her soother for in bed and in the car. I am pregnant and due in MArch so i had no intentions of taking away the soother.  But on Friday night DD was up ever hour on the hour and most of the time she would cry out grab her soother and go back to sleep but i had to go in there 4 times to get it for her!  So Saturday morning we decided enough was enough. We gave her the soother for her nap and then that was it.  We told her the soothers were gone, and that she didn't need them anymore.  The first night she didn't even cry, just asked for it a few times. She slept the night through and didn't cry out once.  Nap time was a bit of struggle and she cried for about 10 minutes and the same with the next night. However, i was expecting way worse, she loved that soother, she would ask for it all the time and would cry whenever we took it out of her mouth.  So ladies it might not be as bad as you think its going to be. That really could not have gone any smoother for us!
