Baby planking!

Not only I have a LO who refuses to drink from the bottle (and is reverse cycling), he also refuses to crawl...

He started sitting up at 6 months and after that he refuses to be on his belly (he loved belly time before), he starts moving his hands and feet like a dying fish and then he planks! (I have to admit that it's quite funny) If I don't help him into a sitting position, he complaints and almost cries...

If I help him into crawling position, he can stay like that (belly off the floor, straight back and all) but after a few seconds he goes back to planking and complaining.

Anyone on the same boat? How to make him be interested in belly time again?

Re: Baby planking!

  • My guy doesn't like being on his tummy either, he never has. He has no desire to crawl or go anywhere and is perfectly happy to sit and play instead. Eventually they'll get it. Both of my girls were like this too.

  • Love the image of a chubby baby planking. (And oops I am off the wagon on the plank challenge.)

  • My DD planks too (like the exercise lol). She does it in between acting like a starfish walking and getting up onto her knees. She's much happier if I'm there cheering her on or playing with her toys a little bit away- it gets her to start scooting over towards them. What really works, though is when I play with my phone and she can see the screen. She can move FAST when there's a smartphone involved.

  • Lol I love those pictures :). My LO hates being on her tummy now that she can sit as well.
  • I feel like I should exercise more after seeing those pictures @BetsyD2010

  • DD hates tummy time now.  She did ok with it before.  Now that she can sit she wants nothing to do with back or tummy.  She is finally starting to play by herself for 5-15 mins at a time.  I'll take that!

  • sandraynic  oh goodness! lol I think if I remember correctly that @pgermain11 's LO used to do this and play suffocation.

He'll get it Mom.... in the meantime get some pictures.

Yup. She still does it every now and then. She loves Suffocation! Actually, now she just licks whatever surface she is on, especially if it's a new one she hasn't been on.
