Pregnancy Pillows - worth the $$?

Forgive me if this has been posted before, but I'm just wondering about the benefit of pregnancy pillows. I have been using a body pillow, but find myself waking up on my back often and starting to have aches/pains in my hips and back. I have read that pregnancy pillows can help, but wondering if anyone has experience. If so, which one do you recommend? Thanks in advance!! :)

Re: Pregnancy Pillows - worth the $$?

  • I love my Snoogle. I used it with my first pregnancy and am using it again. I got it from bed bath beyond and used the 20% off. Definitely worth the money.

  • Another Snoogle rec here. I loved mine the first time around and I just pulled it out again. I bought mine on sale but would've gladly paid full price for it. I bought an extra cover too.

  • Love love love my snoogle. Wouldn't have bought it on my own though- it was a surprise gift from DH. I already had a body pillow and that was good enough for me.

Thing is- I'm on bed rest so I spend the entire day wrapped up in various positions with the snoogle. If I weren't on bed rest I'd probably still be fine with my body pillow- but since I do have it, I will say its been absolutely awesome for sleeping. I sleep longer and deeper with it and there's no real scientific reason why- it's just a pillow but its so dang comfortable!

I'm glad to have it :)

  • Love the snoogle! Had a lot of problems sleeping before I bought it, now I can't sleep without it.
  • My Sister in law gave me hers and it's the best thing in the world I would have naught my own if I knew how awesome it is
  • Have the Snoogle, but for me a pillow under my hips is just as effective. Try that first, if you're having hip pain, before spending the money on a Snoogle. My OB recommended this technique, but I had already ordered the Snoogle.
  • I love my snoogle. I am a belly sleeper usually but that is no long an option. DH got me the snoogle for Christmas and there is no way I could sleep without it.

  • I can't say enough about the Snoogle. I was up for most of the night with hip/back pain and the first night I used it I slept straight through. It's amazing and WAY worth it.
  • My Snoogle was a lifesaver late in my sons pg. Just starting to really appreciate it this time around as well.

  • I bought a Boppy body pillow. Same thing as the snoogle but I think it was only $35. I love this thing!

Congrats to my GP Sister from another mister Bruinsbabe!!

  • I love my Snoogle more every week! It's been especially helpful in keeping me from rolling over onto my stomach because I'm finding that even though I haven't been able to sleep on my stomach comfortably since around 17-18 weeks, my body still tries to do it if there's nothing there to prevent it.

  • My step mom got me the snoogle for Christmas. Omg I love it! It does help me from rolling on my back/belly. I would've stayed with a body pillow too, but the curls in the pillow at the top n bottom are awesome! I can turn over and still have the pillow between my knees. I have a back injury so pillow between the knees is a huge must for me. If ya have the extra money I say go for it! You won't regret it.

  • Thanks, y'all! Looks like I'm headed out to get a snoogle today :)
  • i inherited a monstrosity like the one pictured below, and life hasn't been the same. note: it's huge, so it will take up lots of space in the bed. your DH may object... ;-)

Until he figures out how comfy it is, and then he'll wait for you to get up before him so that he can cozy up to it ;)

  • I think I'm in the minority, but I really wasn't a fan! I borrowed my sister's Snoogle and it did not work out for me. I felt hot and claustrophobic. I'm really bummed because I kept hearing friends rave about how amazing it was while pregnant. I've tried it a few different times to see if I would change my mind but it was still super uncomfortable for me. Sad panda.

  • Yes. Mine ( a snoogle) was a gift but as soon as I got it, I started sleeping through the night and sleeping better.
  • I love my Snoogle as well.  I wouldn't be able to get a good night's sleep without it!  Definitely worth the money - I bought mine off of Amazon.

  • I love my snoogle also, definitely makes a huge difference. It does take some room in the bed and my husband likes to sneak his leg over to my side and put it on the snoogle too.

  • I'm definitely the weirdo here but I can't stand the Snoogle.  Waking up in the middle of the night and then having to rearrange the whole thing so that I can turn over is annoying.  Also, it's a pain to have under the covers (I can't sleep on top of them).  I get a better night's sleep without it.
  • No.I got the boppy brand pillow in motherhood, ultimately I end up kicking it out of bed & sometimes using a regular pillow for between my knees,it's less bulky.I move around a lot in my sleep so extra things like that in the bed just annoy me
  • I got the mini snoogle last week as my hips have been going numb while sleeping. I love love love the pillow! It's the perfect size and doesn't take up too much space in our queen bed, and my DH is a big guy! Sleep is still not perfect but it's a vast improvement
  • I bought the boppy one and hated it. So my new love is just my body pillow :) I haven't tried to snoggle but have heard good things about it
  • I have the Leachco Back n' Belly Chic and I don't know what I'd do without it. Probably not sleep. Love, love, love this thing.
