GTKY: Valentine's Day

I was just having a conversation with my best friend about plans/traditiona for valentines day. So I got curious. What where your ladies best and worst Valentines days with an ex or current partner.

Best: When I was a junior in high school the guy I was dating at the time broke into my locker and filled it with stuffed animals, boxes of chocolate, a card, and a necklace of his he always wore. My locker never worked quite right again but it was super sweet.

Worst: the Valentine's day xh and i were engaged i worked the closing shift at mcdonalds and got off work at 2 in the morning. Xh picked me up took me to walmart and told me to pick out my own stuffed animal, chocolates, and card because he didnt feel like it and now they were on sale. I was unimpressed, i smelled like fryer grease, was tired, and had melted ice cream in my shoes. I just wanted to go home and go to bed. When we got home he thought he deserved valntines sex. I told him he could sleep on the couch.

    I've never really had a best Valentine's Day.  I've either been single or with a shitty boyfriend who either "forgot" or would say something like "I don't celebrate hallmark holidays".  But I guess, this past Valentine's Day would have been the best as I was counting down the days until my due date and told everyone that I was "making my Valentine" and a lot of people thought that was cute.

    My worst would be any of the 4 with BD.  He had either disappeared for a couple days or been drunk by the time we met up that there was nothing to do.  He'd be too wasted to go to dinner (or a bar) and then he'd pass out early and I'd be sitting in the apartment playing video games. 

    This will be my first Valentine's Day with my BF... I'm actually really nervous because I don't know what to expect.  The differences between BF and BD are like night and day (to be a cliche about the whole thing, but it's true) so I'm wondering if he is planning on anything.  I told him it was either we celebrated my birthday or Valentine's Day but not both (my birthday is 2/18, close enough that I never celebrate both).  He said he didn't care either way but that he'd probably do something both days anyway, even though I told him not to...

    Hope you get a good valentines day!

    Im patheticall excited that my dad just texted me to tell me hes putting bentley and is alentine cards in the mail this morning.

    Background story on that every year my dad gets all of us a valentines card andwrites something amazing in it. So im pretty excited to see what he wrote to me and bentley this year, and i have no idea if bf and i are doing anything since bf is one of those non believers in hallmark hollidays.

    Best: I am honestly drawing a blank. After last year (see below) I kind of have a mental block when it comes to Valentine's Day.

    Worst: Last year when my XH sent his chick on the side a Valentine's Day gift. Added insult to injury: He spent more on hers than mine. I found out about it (and her) a few days later.

    Hahahahaha yes. He used one of the credit cards in his name. A few days later, I was updating our budget/finances and logged into his account to get a balance owed number and saw a charge for edible arrangements (so clearly a valentine's day gift). I asked him about it and he said "Oh I sent it to my mom." He came clean about an hour later. He seriously thought I would never find out. What an idiot.
