Anyone else planning any trips with their families this summer?
We already have 3 trips planned and to be honest I am not looking forward to them except the one trip will be just my DH and I. We are wanting to go somewhere tropical- all inclusive resort. We are wanting to start trying for #2 this summer and wanted to have a final trip with just "us" while we still can.
My parents decided to do an extended weekend and family renunion with all of my aunts and uncles and cousins and their kids. So like 30 relatives all together for the weekend. The bummer with this trip is we either have to drive 12 hours or fly. And flying with a 16 month sounds freightening to me. I just know how she doesn't like to sit now and cannot imagine that will change much when she starts walking. Anyone fly with a 16 month old would that beat a long car drive? But then there is the hassle that driving will take 2 days to do.
Then his parents want to do another extended weekend to the lake along with his sister. THe problem here is his family want to do everything we did pre-baby. Take the boat out, water-skiing, etc. Their comment was we will just have to get our DD a big hat, wear lots of sunscreen and take shorter boat rides. Yet, my SIL will want to water ski the whole time. Again, maybe by summer DD can be out in the sun for longer than I picture or maybe she will love riding in the boat. Just sounds like a pain in the butt to me
Maybe I am just griping as I realize both trips won't be too long. Yet, I am not looking forward to either trip with the parents. Who ever thought these kinds of "family trips" were a good idea? So much for the plan to have a trip with just our family.

Other than Cali, not planning on a trip this summer. Too broke
BFP #2: 11-7-14, CP (BFN: 11-13-14)
BFP #3: 3/24/15 EDD: 12/5/15
Agreed! "Family vacation" is an oxymoron, as far as I'm concerned!

TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
