It will induce labor they said.. 40 week appt

I went for my 40 week appt today (I'm 40 weeks 1 day) and the doctor stripped my membranes. It hurt so bad. Apparently the way my cervix is titled, he had to reach way back to do it. My cervix was titled with the other 2 kids and it resulted in back labor so I knew this was a possibility. I almost punched him and jumped off the table it hurt so bad. Now Where my episiotomy for the other two was, is throbbing and hurts badly ( I swear he tore me a little) and I have some awesome varicose veins going on :-(

So i have been told by multiple people including my doctor that sometimes a massage can help kick start labor. So I went in for a prenatal massage after my appointment. It felt great but when I went to get up my hip popped out of place. Now I can't get it to go back in place and I am brought to tears every time I move.

We set up an induction date for Monday the 10th but I wish it was tomorrow. I feel like I did when I was recovering from DS birth as far as swelling and pain.

Anyone that has had their hip out of place while pregnant, how did you get it to pop back in? Sorry for the long winded vent and thanks in advance to any advice

  • Oww... Sorry you are dealing with so much pain. I have chronic hip issues and I pop them 3 ways depending on the issue. Maybe one will work for you?

    1. Stand in first position and lift one leg, bent slightly at knee, behind you while leaning forward as you lift. Do both sides.

    2. Start the same as #1 and lift leg like a dog would to pee.

    3. Pull knee up to chest while standing and rotate out to side while holding on to it.

You can have SO push down on your hip to make sure you are not lifting it while trying to pop it. Also, #1-2 can be done on hands and knees and #3 can be done laying on side or back.

    Hope you get relief soon.

  • Yep, my hip went out briefly after my last prenatal massage too.  Things were just TOO loosened up :-(  Luckily, I was able to fix it myself when I got back in the car.  This sounds weird, but I basically just gripped the steering wheel with both hands and sort of twisted my hips back and then "click" I felt it correct itself.  I just had to be careful for the next few days b/c it popped back out again a time or two.  If you are in that much pain, I think you might need to see a chiro to get it straightened out.  Good luck.
