TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

Bi-Weekly Wine and Cheese Party

Good Morning Lovely Ladies!

It's that time again. This is our bi-weekly check in, condensed version. Feel free to let us know how life is; you can b!tch, you can moan, you can brag, you can cry, whatever you want. Enjoy!

QOTW: This question stems from the fact that it is about 2 degrees outside (at least we are above zero! that's a huge step up for us!!) and we have about 40 mph winds. What is your favorite thing to do when it is really chilly outside? (for those of you who live in warm weather climates, pretend it's really cold out!

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

PS: We are having warm spiced wine and warm French onion soup (it's cheesey!) because it is just too cold to think about anything not hot and steamy!

Re: Bi-Weekly Wine and Cheese Party

  • Check in: Our carrier had her first appointment last week and her estrogen and progesterone were both too high. We got pushed back another 2 weeks. I was pretty upset when the clinic called to tell me that. I know that 2 weeks is really nothing in the grand scheme of how long we've been trying, etc. but it was still just another setback and it really sucked. She ended up going to her OB for another issue and he told her she had a hemorraghic cyst and that he was 99.9% sure that was the cause of her high levels. He was confident that when the cyst goes away, her levels will be fine. So, at least that was good news.

In non-TTCAL related news, my car got hit right outside the hospital where I work on Tuesday. Then, the guy just drove off! My coworker saw it happen, but didn't get a license plate. There was just damage to the bumper so not a huge deal, but I was more mad at the principle of it. You don't do damage to someone's property and then just run away. It was not a good day for me.

QOTW: I like to stay in my PJs (DH got me some super soft ones for Christmas!) and curl up with the dog under a fuzzy blanket on the couch and a good book.

  • @Sammer818- I'm sorry things got pushed back. I hope the cyst goes away soon so you can get the ball rolling again

I posted my update on TTCAL board, but for those who did not see it, my transfer was cancelled (again) due to no healthy embryos. I am starting to doubt that there are any healthy eggs in there. Out of 23 that have been fertilized with the first 2 IVFs, all have been unhealthy (we assume since we've only gotten to test 3- the others arrest too early). We're devastated.

I want to move onto egg or embryo adoption but my husband is adamant about trying again one more time. I feel like it's a waste of time and money.

QOTW: Put on PJ pants and a warm sweater, watch TV, and drink something warm

    Everyone welcome on my posts

  • @sammer818 - I'm sorry about the setback. Hopefully it won't take long for the levels to go down and things can get going.

@jbasore1123 - (((HUGS))) I'm so sorry to hear about the cancellation. I hope which ever route you and YH decide to take turns out with much better results this time.

My Update: I've been pretty absent on both this board and TTCAL lately. Partly because I've been really busy, but also because I've been feeling pretty down lately. I felt like being on the board multiple times a day was beginning to make me obsess about everything.

Our first 3 IUIs obviously didn't work out. We're supposed to go in to have another consult with our RE, but due to DH's work schedule we had to cancel. He's currently out of state, and with just coming back every weekend (or every other) we don't know when the consult will happen. We've tried, as timing would allow, for natural cycles these last couple times hoping for a miracle. No such luck. I'm just feeling really defeated. I love getting the support from the ladies here on the board, but I also have felt a bit better taking a step back for a while. I'm just ready for a break.

((Hugs)) to all of you ladies that need them. Love to you all.

    ~*~All AL Welcome~*~

  • Hey ladies. Sorry I've been MIA for the past month or so. I have been going through my third loss. It's been rough, but fortunately it seems like my body has taken care of it naturally which is a huge, huge relief. One more beta coming up to make sure it's low or zero, but fingers crossed I won't need any intervention, which I did with my first 2 losses. My GYN office has referred us to an RE for RPL testing. I'm hoping to find out soon how long the wait will be for that. Unfortunately I think it might be really long, knowing how things work here in Sweden.

QOTW: I had some REALLY cold weather in MN a few weeks ago, it was brutal! My favorite thing to do is stay at home under a blanket and watch TV or a movie.

@sammer818 - I'm so sorry to hear about the setback, but hopefully in 2 weeks everything will go as planned!! Sorry if you've explained this and I forgot, but do you already have frozen embryos? Or will you be stimming soon?

@jbasore1123 - More ((hugs)). I'm so sorry sweetie. It is SO unfair.

@lindsebert - I understand needing to step back. Before this loss I was running 3 CTs and a check-in. I am thinking about picking up one CT but honestly it's been nice to just take a step back. I've still been on TTCAL but much less than before. ((hugs))

  • @sammer818 - oh no! I'm sorry it got pushed back another two weeks (((hugs))) I hope you get the all clear soon. I am also so sorry about your car. It makes me so sad people do things like that.

@jbsore1123 - I've been thinking about you so much. (((hugs)))

@lindsebert - Lots of ((hugs)). When does your husband come back into town. Don't worry about taking a break. I think being on here all the time can become too much sometimes.

@redtwizzlers - (((hugs))) I am so sorry again about all you are going through. I hope you can keep busy. How does it feel being Dr. RedTwizzlers now?

@snegde - good luck on your IUI this cycle! I hope it goes well! Did your husband end up coming to the CLE for the beer tapping?

As for me, in CD1 and going in for monitoring (I guess?) on Monday or Tuesday. Then Clomid for me followed by IUI. I've been spending way too much time on Dr. Google looking up success rates with low morph and IUI. Bad idea as the success rates are really really bad. I'm wondering if we are now wasting time and I should have just started considering IVF. Blah.

I bit AWish, I came back from vacation and found out I was promoted. Wow. I was shocked. It's the first time I've moved up without going in and asking for it or switching companies. Really unexpected. My husband keeps talking about being a stay at home husband haha.

  • @snegde - OK, let me know! I didn't know there had been a change. You can PM me or FB message me. I hope the IUI goes well!

@jenkellen - It feels great, but surreal! Thanks! CONGRATS on your promotion, that's awesome!! I know it's easy to get sucked into the horror stories on the internet (we've all done it, myself included) but I really hope that it's not that bad and I'll keep my FX for this IUI! Maybe you can talk to your doctor about it if this IUI doesn't work?

@hawkward - I forget why you were on propranalol, was it thyroid issues? Sorry :-/ I'm glad to hear things are going in the right direction though. What are you applying for?! That's exciting! Good luck!

Update: I had my monitoring u/s last week on CD 11 (was on femara CD 4-8 for those on mobile). My lining was 7.2 mm (the best yet!) and my RE is good with anything over 7. I had a follicle at 25 mm (woo hoo!) and 17 mm, so I triggered that night for a supposed O date on CD 13. Do any of you know if the 17 mm follicle was likely to catch up and be mature enough to ovulate? I'm very happy with the dominant follicle, but it would be nice to have 2. I forgot to ask my RE what he thought.

The plan is start prometrium after my last HCG shot (I do 5000 units the first time and then 2500 units twice more) and then have a beta scheduled for Feb 10.

ETA: Forgot QOTW- My favorite thing to do is watch TV or read a book in my PJ's all snuggled up in a blanket and drink hot chocolate or tea.

  • @sammer818 Thanks for the check-in. I’m sorry you got pushed back a couple of weeks. The person who hit your car is such a jerk! I’d like to think that everyone has the common decency to do the right thing, but it just isn’t so. I think karma will come back to bite him in the butt.

@jbasore1123 Big ((hugs)) I’m so sorry that you have another set back. I hope that whatever route you and YH choose, you have a better outcome.

@lindsebert I’m sorry that you’re feeling so down. ((hugs))

@RedTwizzlers I’m glad that at least your body is taking care of things right now. FX that your betas continue to go in the right direction and that you won’t need any interventions.

@snegde Big ((hugs)) I hope you’re feeling ok today and recovery well.

@jenkellen Congrats on the promotion! I hope the u/s went well.  Good luck on the IUI!

@Hawkward FX that you get into the program! I’m happy for you that your thyroiditis is headed in the right direction.

Thanks for the love and hugs girls. H is home right now, but will be leaving again. Hopefully by the end of Feb he will have a normal schedule back, but being on the road sometimes comes with the territory of his work.

@RedTwizzlers - (((Hugs))) love. So sorry about everything. Hopefully the wait won't be as long as you're anticipating for the testing.

@snegde - When is IUI2 possibly taking place? Hoping you can get better timing in.

@jenkellen - How are you doing with the clomid? I'm hoping you have better results than Dr Google is showing. It can be so bad, yet tempting, to look at Google for answers. ((Hugs))

@hawkward - GL with school! That sounds exciting! Hoping you don't have to go back on the meds as well.

@luciddreamer106 - Yay for a good update. FX for you!

  • Update on me:  I had my follow up SIS last week and we're clear!!!  My doctor is basically a comedian.  After AF which is due sometime this week we're all set to start trying again!!!  I'm scared, nervous, excited and everything else all rolled into one.

I haven't been charting and I'm nervous to start again because it causes me more stress than it's worth so I'm torn.  I end up so concerned about waking up at the same time every morning that I wake up throughout the night and worry about getting back to sleep blah blah blah.  I probably won't start temping/charting this cycle but maybe next?  The idea of TTC again makes me so nervous.
