screaming and night wake ups

LO at least or twice a night cries really loud, basically while sleeping, which of course wakes me up with a start due to the monitor. I would turn off the monitor but he sometimes wakes up, sits up and just chills till we put his lack in.com last him back down.

Who else is experiencing or has experienced this? I am not sure if the crying out is night terrors and if so, how long does this last?

E does this sometimes too, but it's not full fledged screaming, it's just a yelp or a whimper here and there in her sleep. I read that nightmares are a sign of the next wonder week. We have to keep the audio monitor on too because we can't hear her otherwise (her nursery is downstairs and we are upstairs). She woke me up twice last night doing it.

Yes! I was thinking about posting this the other day but didn't. He typically only does it once a night. One loud cry but never seems to wake, or if he does goes immediately back to sleep.

We are going through this right now. Have been for the past few days where LO just wakes up crying. We pick her, soothe etc but the minute we put her back down the screaming continues. At a loss for what to do at this point

It is so sad to hear him cry/scream out. It is easy for us to get him back to sleep but I have to assume it disrupts his sleep and makes him a little more cranky. It doesn't help that he is a restless sleeper in addition to this

I read up on terrors and thought it could be it but it only lasts a minute
