YAY for letting LO bake!

So I had my follow up with my OB yesterday (Monday Japan time) and all my labs came back 'normal' within reason. My HB is still elevated and I'm moved from the 1-2cm dilated to 2-3cm dilated still only 80% effaced but, baby has moved into the -1 position (whatever that means lol).  I still have to have an appointment with internal medicine for a consult as to why my heart rate is sitting at 140/89 (which is better than last week but not by much). We are officially 37 weeks 2 days now and I was told that baby will be allowed to bake a while longer! Though both my midwife and my Dr think baby will be here in the next week or so. Thank goodness that this appointment went so much smoother than last weeks' appointment.

On a side no I absolutely love my DH! As an early Valentine he went and bought me a new tablet to replace/upgrade my old tablet which was starting to die. He did this while I was in the bathroom shortly before my appointment! Such a sweet heart. Now I really have to walk to the local market and pick up some flowers for him ;) unless I'm in labor on Valentines day. Though I do have a box of chocolates stashed away for him already just in case. Sorry for my long post just thought I'd share my good news.

  • Yay! Congrats! That is really wonderful news. And your DH sounds great!

  • I'm ready for her to come when she's ready and just so pleased she gets the chance to 'bake' to her hearts content but with regular contractions it's unlikely to be a whole lot longer anyways. But won't go to L&D till they are much closer together or get more intense. Right now they are 45-50 minutes apart but, not really increasing in frequency or intensity and haven't in about a week so we shall see.

  • What great news! I am in a very similar boat. My blood pressure was elevated last week, and the day before my appt I had a headache and swelling. I had pre-e with DS and had to be induced at 38 weeks, so I was worried about that. OB sent me for labs which came back normal, and blood pressure has gone back down, so for now, LO gets to stay put! I definitely understand how excited you are about that!

  • @ramfon05 Glad I'm not alone! Sorry you're in my boat because it's scary but, happy to have somebody right there with me.  It's unnerving thinking about everything and my heads been spinning trying to wrap it around everything but, at least LO will get to stay put for now at least. I am right there with you for the headaches, elevated pulse and the swelling and they were throwing around pre-e at my last appointment too so I was nervous but, thankfully my labs are normal-ish for me I guess.

  • @amerk1107, everyday counts! I'm hoping that I'll make it longer than I did with DS this time around. Really, I'm hoping that I make it all the way to my RCS at 39+3, but it is a little nerve-wracking going to each appointment, wondering if I will be blind-sided like I was last time!

  • Hooray! Bake, baby, bake! I'm also totally ready to meet my little person, but so glad for each day he stays in. (:
