sorry (a little gross)- trying to see if anyone has been in my shoes!!

So this weekend my husband surprised me for my birthday with a big party in Atlantic city. However, this mommy has a few too many cocktails and couldn't remember if I took out my tampon.... well then we also proceeded to be intimate since we had alone time. 

long story short, I went "fishing" but I couldn't find this mysterious tampon. has anyone gone through this? I called my obgyn yesterday and i am going tonight. I am just unsure of what to expect. from what i understand, the procedure is comparable to a pap smear. 

I can imagine after having a child and going through all those appointments it is really any big deal. Also - should I ask for an anti-biotic just in case to prevent any possible infection. 

TIA!! I feel so ridiculous!

    The doctor is just going to use a speculum and look around to see if it's trapped behind your cervix. 

    And unless you have signs of an infection you're not going to need antibiotics. Using them "preventatively" is a bad idea.
