Well crap....

So DH finally cleaned out the nursery last weekend and was putting together the crib tonight. Turns out the crib we got has a manufacturing error and is missing 2 holes on one of the side pieces where we would attach the stabilizing bar to. He is contacting the manufacturer but do you all think we should go through BRU where we got it from? They are such a pain in my arse though and it was a pain to get the crib to our house bc it ended up not fitting in my car like we thought it would and DH had to get one of his coworkers to help us out.

On the bright side of things today, my hot and sour soup hit the spot and the waiter didn't charge us for it plus he gave me extra to bring home!

  • Ugh what a pain. No experience with BRU...gl though!

  • I think generally when there is an issue with the product itself, it's suggested to contact the manufacturer.
I had a problem with my Graco stroller one year later that was bought from Target. I contacted Graco directly by email and they offered me a complete replacement!

  • My crib wasn't sent with enough bolts I just went through the manufacturer and I got them in a few days.

  • We had a problem with a crib piece 3+ years ago that we got from BRU. If I recall correctly they had us deal directly with the manufacturer who mailed is a replacement piece. Took some time but I don't think they even wanted us to bother sending back the defective piece.

    Good luck. It's a pain, I know.

  • DH heard back from the manufacturer. They don't have any side pieces to replace ours currently and said they won't have any until the end of February at the earliest. Then, who knows how long it'll take for them to ship it. They told us to return the entire crib to BRU which will be a pain in our arse. It didn't fit in my SUV so DH had to get a coworker who has a massive truck that it barely fit in. Not to mention trying to get it back in the box. DH wants to just fix it himself (literally it is just drilling a few holes) but I'm not sure this is a good idea due to potential warranty issues. I'm going to try going to BRU to see if maybe they'll just replace the piece but I'm doubtful about it...

  • I'd call bru first but they suck about pretty much everything. If they couldn't offer a quick replacement and it was as simple as drilling 2 holes I'd have dh just do it.
