How much for cleaning service

Hi everyone - I recently started using a cleaning service. They come bi-weekly (2 cleaners) and do a fairly good job. They clean two bedrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, tv room, laundry room, and 2.5 bathrooms for $150 each visit. A few folks are saying that seems a bit steep. Curious how much you all pay for cleaning. Can you also let me know the size of your home since it's relative? Thanks!!

p.s. - cleaning service is SO worth it either way

Agree with PP, it depends on where you live and how big your house is. I have a 1200 sq. foot house and live in a high COLA. I pay $100 each visit.

I have a 1500 sqft house 3bed 1.5bath and live in a MCOLA. We pay $100 every 2weeks and they clean everything. I use a private couple rather than a service.

I also live in a MCOL area and use an individual rather than a service. We have a 2500 square foot house (4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths) and pay $85 every 3 weeks. I agree the cleaning service is well worth it, but you may want to call around to see if what you are paying is normal for your area.

We pay about $15/hour, and pay hourly instead of for a "whole house clean." She cleans 7 hours a month (3.5 every other week), and mostly focuses on the kitchen and bathrooms, but also dusts and vacuums, and does whatever else she can in that time period (sometimes she'll do windows, or baseboards, or whatever else we ask her to do).

I'd see if you can find a place that will charge hourly.
