Anna Jean birth story (PeachLove) PIP

First and foremost: thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. Also- extra shout out to my labor buddies for the encouragement and bump updates!

Short: Anna Jean was born 6lbs 13oz during the Super Bowl halftime show! Mom and baby are doing great!

Long: on Sunday 2/2/14 at 2:22am my water gushed in bed! Spicy food and spicy time on Saturday evening may have done the trick!

We got to the hospital an hour later and I was only 1cm. I walked the halls and tried to progress on my own but nothing was working.

At 8am they started pitocin. My contractions be unbearable around noon and I was only 2cm. They weren't checking often due to high risk of infection. I got an epidural at 1:00 though I was scared to death of it. Unfortunately because of my scoliosis, it took awhile to administer and I was in so much pain. They gave me a spinal as well to try and help.

I slept on and off for an hour was they were giving me oxygen and kept turning me to new positions, so it was hard to rest.

At 6:30 PM I had progressed to 6 and was feeling great! Epidurals are strong and amazing.

At 8pm I was feeling pressure. I pushed for 30 mins and alas, she was here!!

38 weeks! 6lbs 13oz, 20inches. My little groundhogs day baby is a BF champ. She's breast feeding every 2-3 hours and loves her skin/skin time.
