How did you tell your SO?

With our DD I was so shocked and kinda of just sent DH a text and told him ( I went to a friends and took a test in the morning when he was already at work, romantic I know ) I found out Saturday morning and hubby just got home last night so I want to do something cute/special to tell him, any ideas or did anyone do something cute to tell your SO?

With DD, he knew before I did because I left the test sitting on the bathroom counter and went to check dinner and we were supposed to check it together but he couldn't wait and ran back and looked.

This time, I bought a big sister shirt when we started TTC and had it sitting in her closet waiting. I had to be sneaky about taking the test so he wouldn't know, and then I got DD dressed in the big sister shirt and told her to go show daddy her new shirt. It was fun!

I found a cute little coupon online that says "good for one baby, redeem in 9 months" and I put it inside the card I gave him on his birthday. He looked at it and then looked at me and then looked at it and looked back at me and said "does this mean what I think it does?" When I told him yes, the biggest smile came across his face and he said "best birthday gift ever!"

I left the stick on the bathroom counter and told him to go look in the bathroom when he was done putting DD to bed. With DD, he was in the shower in the morning, and I went in the bathroom and POAS while he was in there. It IMMEDIATELY said "pregnant", and I just told him so.
Nothing fancy for us.

With DS1 we were both in the bathroom when I POAS.

With DS2 I woke up and POAS then climbed back in bed and told DH.

This time: I had taken a test the morning before but it was soo light that I wasn't sure. So the next day I took a test and when it was positive I went out and hugged him from behind and pulled the test out in front of him. He gave me a kiss and a high five lmao. We're weird. I tested early so he wasn't expecting it yet.

This is our first so I wrapped up a few pregnancy books for dads along with the positive tests. I also gave him a card that I wrote saying
"We did the deed, now it's time to read. Please act happy, because I feel kinda sappy. I know this rhyme is bad, but you're gonna be a dad!" I told him it was an early Valentines Day gift! He loved it!

Mine was not cute. He knew I was testing Monday and that I'd call my doc for betas because of previous issues. So, we were actually in the middle of a text conversation about something else when I was like 'oh, btw, test was positive, called the doc, going in for betas tomorrow.' I used my 'cute' one with our first loss because I got the BFP on his birthday last year. I'm hoping this one sticks so he has an even better birthday this year.

I tested while DH was at work. When it turned positive I put a big bow on our future nursery door with a sign that says "Under Construction - Coming October 2014"

My DH and I work in the same office.

I walked in his office this morning, told him I needed to tell him something, and abruptly broke into tears and told him I was pregant. I was expecting him to kill me. He wanted to be done after 2 and trusted me that we were "being careful". Well apparently not careful enough because I'm pregnant.

I just had a feeling this morning so I stopped and bought a test on the way to work. And classicly took the test in my work's bathroom. Then I sat at my desk for an hour wanting to vomit because I couldn't imagine my husband's reaction.

Well he was TOTALLY fine! He even smiled and said everything happens for a reason. PHEW! Now I'm starting to get excited but I'm also so terrified...It was REALLY hard having a 17 month old and a newborn, I'm just now getting the swing of it. I really can't believe in 9 months I'll have one more. oh my gosh pray for me.

I set out two onesies, one for each of our favorite football teams and put the positive test on top. His jaw dropped when he saw it lol. I got it all on video!

Reading this thread I feel so uncreative! DH was home when I took the test, which I didn't really expect to be positive, and I was just like "Hey you need to come look at this and tell me if I'm reading it wrong". After he confirmed I was too shocked to do anything cute.

I took the test Thursday morning and DH came home about an hour later for his lunch break. I grabbed the test and told him, "Look what happened today!" He looked at the test and had to really think about it for a minute. Then he said, "Is that really positive??" We have been trying for 7 months and were starting to doubt that we were going to conceive again. So happy to be wrong!

For DS we had been trying for nine months with a MC in the mix. I took a test early on a Saturday morning, we cried, hugged and were super excited.

For this BFP, I just stopped taking the mini pill and BFing Jan.1. When I got my positive on 1/28, I ran out bought DS a #1 Big Brother shirt and had him wearing it when DH got home from work that night.

I left the positive test out on the counter for him to find. When he got home it took about an hour for him to see it. I looked up just in time to catch the double take and he sort if smiled a little. We were not trying so it was a relief to see him take it so well.

Cute ideas ladies! He has an idea but I still wanted to do something beat to surprise him! Well I went and bought a calendar to hang on the wall and I put everyone's birthdays and anniversaries in there. And I put baby #2 due on my EDD. I'm going to give it to him tonight because if DD is awake and she hears she'll blow it, I'm planning on telling our family next week on valentines day! So we will see how this goes!

I had a faint line with a blue dye test so I told him I thought we were, but he wasn't convinced yet since it wasn't a very dark plus sign. That day I bought the FRER test with pink dye and decided to wait a few days to retest. The morning I tested I woke up at 4:30 and had to go to the bathroom so bad I couldn't wait until a decent time. We got the positive and I turned on his light at 4:30 to show him. HAHA

I was a week late, and thought I was getting symptoms all week, then had spotting last Friday morning. The Hubs was going to take me out for consolation sushi that night, and when we got home after work I decided to take a test just in case. I walked away because I figured it was negative, then came back when the timer went off to see the 2 pink lines! I basically shouted, "Wha?!" and he came running, so that's how I "told" him, hahaha. Not very creative or cute.

With my son, I wrapped up a tiny pair of newborn shoes with mushrooms on them with the pregnancy test. This time I was going to get another pair in a different design, but we got pregnant so quickly that I had nothing. Instead I put an Eviction Notice on my sons crib. It was cute.

I tested one evening when I realized my period was late. I got my BFP and thought I would do something cute to tell dh. Then I went down stairs, saw him and started gigglingwith this idiotic smile on my face. I couldn't wait to do something, just had to blurt it out!

I tested right after DH went to work, I didn't think I was going to get the BFP that I wound up getting... DH is an elementary music teacher at the school less then a mile from our home, it was before school so I ran up there and suprised him (I couldn't wait till that night to tell him) and just handed him my phone with a picture of the BFP! He was so happy and a bit surprised!

My husband was with me when I took the test. This is our first pregnancy, so he didn't even know how to read the test, so I told him I would explain it to him: this line is the control, which means the test is working right, and this line means I'm pregnant! We hugged and kissed and jumped up and down together and high fived

I had a SUPER faint line on an internet cheapie on Tuesday (but I didn't see it until like 8 hours later so I thought it was an evap). I tested the next am with a FRER and there was a faint line but definitely something. The RE sent me for a blood draw so I confirmed that afternoon. My dh had been bugging me all day (since I lied and said I didn't take a FRER). On his way home I told him while I was cleaning I had found a Christmas present of his I had forgot to give him. It was a pair of Sperrys and in the box I put a baby pair of Sperrys and the positive test with a note that said "Baby T is going to need these to keep up with Dad!"

He opened the box and was like what?? I pulled out the pregnancy test and he was shocked! He kept saying holy sh** is this for real?! We hugged & kissed - it was awesome!

I ran into the bedroom telling "pregnant" waving a clear blue easy stick in the air, the second the result flashed. When he said "really?!" I had to look again to make sure I didn't imagine it. Then I did one with a weeks estimator just for grins. I had already bought the older style when the weeks estimator came available and bought it because it sounded fun.
