Almost ready to come home!

Zack's progress has been b astonishing. He was only on CPAP for 12 hours after birth. At three days he had both good NG tube and IV removed. Yesterday though, they had the NG put back in because they increased his feeds to 60 mL and he has a hard time finishinh that last 5-10. Once he can, they will do adlib feeds, basically he gets what he wants when he wants. If he gains weights after a couplw days of that, we go home! However, his jaundice level keep varying. Up until yesterday, they were satisfactory, but I noticed the whites of his eyes were a little yellow. They have to test him again today. If they're good, he will be home within a week.

Side notes: I gave him a bath yesterday also. First time I've bathed a baby that little and I learnes how to care for a bellybutton. Silly things to say considering I have a two year old. But he was almost two months old when I was able to bathe him in the hospital and he doesn't have a bellybutton.

Great news! Thanks for the update. I hope he gains weight quickly and that his jaundice levels stay low.

I forgot to mention, the doctors actually think he is older than we thought. He is bigger and slightly more advanced than the average 34 weeker, but there is really no way to prove exactly how old he is gestationally at this point.
