IVF # 2 was a success! I am overjoyed (and sick to my stomach). A short re-intro on me: I am 36, DH is 39 and we have been TTC since 2009. My first pregnancy ended in a loss at 7 weeks. During our journey, we learned that I have stage II endo, MTHFR and DH has some morphology issues. We moved to IVF in March of 2012 after other options failed and we got pg with our rainbow on our first cycle, who is now 13 months old. We thought we better start trying again soon, due to my age and the uncertainty of IVF, but low and behold, lightening did strike twice.
My first beta was 154 at 9dp3dt and my second was 243 at 11dp3dt. It comes out to a 57 hour doubling time, but I am not stressing over it (well, maybe a little). Unfortunately, I have severe OHSS and ended up in the ER on Tuesday and had 1.5 liters of fluid drained from my abdomen, but that is how we found out it worked! Although I look 6 months pregnant right now, I am only 4 weeks and I am hoping to be here for a very long and uneventful 36 more weeks. My first ultrasound is scheduled for the same day in 2011 that we found out we lost our first baby – February 13th. I may have to change it, but I am trying to be zen about it.
I am looking forward to getting to know you ladies and thanks for having me back!
