I figured since I'm not really supposed to be up doing anything I could sit here and write my birth story. Sorry if it's long.
Tuesday, January 28 we got the call to come in for our induction at 6am. At 7am they started one gel and pitocin. Within 5 minutes I had dilated to 5cm from 3cm and started having contractions that I couldn't breathe through. I agreed that it was time for pain killers so they gave me Stadol (sp?). Within 10 minutes the anesthesiologist was there to administer my epidural. Sweetest lady I have ever met. As soon as they left my nurse was back switching my position about every 5 minutes because LO heart rate was dropping. By 1045am my Dr and an operating team were in my room. They stopped my contractions and the pitocin and LO started to react better.
My doctor checked me and I was at 8cm and said I needed to push NOW. After 15 min and 3 suctions Wyatt just wasn't coming. Operating team and hubby started unplugging all my cords and rushed me to an operating room. Wyatt's heart rate dropped to 55. DH was not allowed in the room and they didn't have enough time to up the drugs so I was put to sleep. I started hyperventilating and crying before they put the mask on me and I don't remember anything until I woke up.
Wyatt Christopher was born at 11:26am. I was told he came out smiling.
I woke up 2 hours later and got to meet my perfect little man, but was not strong enough to hold him for another two. I had 18 staples and came down with an infection Friday. Our little family of 4 is now settling in at home and we couldn't be happier.
DH and I have decided that this will be our last baby because of this experience being scarier than the first.
Thanks for reading. Sorry there are no pics. I'm on mobile. I'll try to post some later.
