How close do you think I am?

Hey, I'm a second time mom, I'm 38 weeks pregnant and when I went to my 37 week dr. App. She said I was 3 cm dilated. Since then the last couple days I've been very uncomfortable, and feel different. I've had about every early labor sign except for my water breaking and bloody show. I've been having lots of sex and walking hoping she will come soon. Did any of you have these signs right before labor? How long do you think I have left? I have a dr. App. Tomorrow so I'm hoping they tell me some good news. Also, if you could include anything that helped you induce labor I would appreciate it.

Second time mom too, and I was a two from when they checked me at 28 weeks up until 36 weeks when they checked and I was 3-4. I didn't go into labor until I was 37 weeks. We had sex and a couple hours later I went into labor. Hopefully you'll go soon but I definitely felt different too the days leading up to actually going into labor and my little one for super active the day of and day before. Good luck!

Ya I've had my family tell me this morning I look better today then I did yesterday. I guess I was pale yesterday and then they said its good to see you with some color. But I've just been so irritated all day for no reason lol abnormal for me, I've been pretty happy this whole pregnancy.

Seriously, it could be tomorrow, it could be a month from now. There's no crystal ball. And no, don't try to induce labor on your own. Let your kid cook.

I'm pregnant with my 6 the and over the course of my pregnancies I've tried walking, sex, spicy food, squats, and stairs. With my last pregnancy my ob even tried stripping my membanes twice. My experience has been this, you're baby will come when ready and although they will have you walk at the hospital if you're not in actual labor it won't do anything. So I can sympathize with how anxious you are to get LO out and not be so uncomfortable, just try and relax. I know women who walked around at 3cm for a month. As of 36 weeks 4 days I was 2 cm and 70% thinned, I will be 38 weeks tomorrow and still cooking. So there's really no way to know. Good luck.

There is absolutely no way whatsoever of predicting that. At my 38 week appointment I was told that it wasn't even close to going into labor. Not dilated, baby hadn't dropped, no change with my cervix, nothing. But I was in labor the next morning! Labor can sneak up on you or it can progress over a long period of time. Unfortunately you're just going to have to wait it out! I think the only thing that is supposed to progress it along is sex, and that doesn't always work. So bang away, why not? Either way that baby is coming soon.

37w appt and I was 0cm. Water broke at 37d6d barely 1cm once at the hospital. DS was born at exactly 38w so you never know.

I was walking around at 40 weeks 5cm dilated... We can't tell you how much time you've got left.

Huh? Why in the world are you trying to induce labor at 38 weeks?? I get doing things to soften the cervix, etc at this point but purposely trying to induce labor when your baby's lungs might not even be fully developed?
