reusable nursing pads

I used to use the disposables, but I figured I'd try to save money with washable ones this time. I cannot for the life of me remember the brand I had years ago. Which ones do you prefer? I'd really like to save money and get reusables.

Re: reusable nursing pads

  • I preferred cloth to the disposables with my first. I remember crying from opening all the stupid packages for pads needing to go everywhere. Once I got bamboobies cloth nursing pads I was so much happier and more comfortable.

  • After 3-4 months I used bamboobies. Before that I leaked too much for anything reusable, but I had oversupply.

  • I have cloth ones, I think they are Medela. I got them at Babies r Us. They came in a mesh bag for the laundry which was helpful
  • I realized I had a coupon code for bamboobies and just ordered a multipack of those to try. They are cute!

  • Don't know what brand, but picked up an 8 pack (4 sets) at Motherhood Maternity for under $10 and never needed more. I rarely used them but good to have and never would have bought over and over again disposables.

  • I actually loved lilypadz. They seemed kinda weird..they are like pasties but they worked really really well for me during the day to prevent milk leaks and I would use disposables at night.

I had considered getting milkies this time. Anybody have experience with them? Good? Bad?

ETA: just ignore this! I decided I would probably get a better response with a thread specifically for this since I am seriously considering purchasing these.

  • I used gerber I think...or medela. They showed through my clothes. the disposables were more discreet but I hate the disposable concept. I saw bamboobies had mixed reviews and they are kind of pricey. I know a small biz online where I got a handmade sling, and I think I'm going to go through her: nurtured sew naturally- she doesn't have them advertised but says she's can do them.

  • Bamboobies?!?!? Is it wrong that I want them JUST for the name??? Lol

I was just thinking the same
    :D
  • ** LILYPADS!! Are amazing!! They are silicone and conpletely safe!! Wash with baby soap!!
  • I use whatever the ones at Babies R Us are (organic cotton).  I'm going to order a 24-pack from Amazon, too.  I would always run out of clean ones.
