Lochlan Rhys Birth Story (Dunvilles)

Thursday, Jan. 30 @ 3:00am (ish) I woke up because I felt a kick and felt an odd sensation. Felt my pants and they were damp. I stood up and made it to the restroom in time to realize that it was in fact my waters breaking. On the way to the bathroom, I told my H "Wake up, my water broke!" He sat up and groggily shook his head. I grabbed a towel and took off my wet clothes. Went back into the bedroom and DH had rolled over and was sound asleep. I woke him up again and this time he realized what I was saying. I have never seen that man get dressed so fast in my life.

I called my mom to come over and stay with DS. Got dressed, grabbed chargers/last minute items etc. When my mom arrived we left. Made it to the hospital at 4am. Got hooked up to the monitors and they called my doctor and anesthesiologist. Delivered Lochlan at 9:32 am after 12 minutes of pushing.

Lochlan is 9 lbs and 20.5 inches long. Born at 38 weeks 5 days.

I loved doing skin to skin after his birth and the "baby centered" approach at my hospital. We were released after 24 hours and are adjusting to life as a family of four! My husband is taking a full week off with us and then two weeks he will work 1/2 days.

I have enjoyed going through pregnancy with all of you ladies and am looking forward to the stages of parenthood via the Bump also. :)
