Last Minute Pregnancy Hilarity

So I thought I'd made it through my 40 weeks without encountering two of the most annoying/dreaded pregnancy faux-pas.. but today at 39 weeks, bam, I got them both in the space of one hour!

1. Out for lunch with DH. Stranger waitress goes in for the unsolicited belly rub. Check that one off the list!

And..

2. When I got home, cue the first nasty comment about my size/weight. Granted, it was a Facebook comment. But still! "Omg you're the biggest thing I've ever seen! You're bigger than a WHALE! And I've seen a lot of whales." (Whatever that even means.) The insensitive 'you're huge' comment: check!

Just thought I'd bring a little ray of final pregnancy lols into everyone's day. And to everyone with all their delightful outside babies, congrats!! They're beautiful :-)

Facebook comments are where I get my worst ones too! Apparently Facebook=no filter. Although I've still avoided the stranger danger belly rub!

Yeah, that FB poster (she's a girl I knew in high school and only see once or twice a year socially) is lucky that I can see some humour in such an absurd comment, lol. Normally I might be a bit sensitive about it, but it's so... bizarre and out of left field that this late in the game what can I do but laugh?

Of course, let the backlash by my other less-weird FB friends begin... she's going to be sorry she hit that post button by the end of the day, hahaha!

Re: number 2 - my mouth literally dropped open when I read that. The nerve!! Admittedly I am extremely sensitive about my weight gain during pregnancy, and I'm also of the opinion that the only thing people should say to pregnant women is that they look wonderful. I would probably cry and rage then post an inappropriate response. I hope your friends rip her to shreds.

I've gotten a few "ooh look at that nice big belly!" comments here and there but a flat out whale reference was new territory for me! That was a serious LOL WUT moment.

I would have commented something snarky back.. probably something to the extent of "Oh geeze thanks I'm pregnant, what's your excuse?!" But I've been abnormally emotional and what not... As for the strangers touching me I've accepted that it's gonna happen no matter what I say so I may as well accept that lol. The Japanese don't have the whole sense of space concepts down so when I go out it's almost guaranteed that at least somebody is going to touch my belly...

People on FB are jerks sometimes. My brother commented on my 36 w photo on FB with "Wow, your belly is almost catching up to (Boyfriend's Name). My boyfriend would have been SO pissed if he'd read that. Thankfully I think I was able to delete it in time.

I'm torn between if I'd unfriend that person, or write something mean back on one of her pics. "wow, have you thought of using PhotoShop to remove the zits/warts from your face before you post pics?" or "How many pairs of Spanx did you have to wear before you could fit into that dress"

This makes me so glad I chose not to share on Facebook. I've decided that I'm going into hiding with my next pregnancy! People do and say the most insensitive shit to pregnant women.
