Date night

So DH and I are going on our first date since having LO. She is 4 weeks tomorrow and we will be leaving her with my MIL and SIL while we go to a Globetrotters game, dinner and grocery shopping. I trust them but I am still so nervous! It will be the first time we let someone else watch her. LO is also breastfed so I left 2 bottles of pumped milk in the fridge and extra in the freezer. I hope I don't get too engorged while we are away. Have any of you left you LO's yet? I just get so nervous that something may happen and we are not there! I know I am overreacting but I think its just new-,mom jitters lol. Also would skipping a feed (since Ill be out) affect my milk supply at all? I plan on nursing her right before we leave and again when we return.

    My ds is 6w3d. Although I haven't left him for longer than a couple of hours, we have had days/ nights when he gets a bottle or two instead of nursing. Usually I decide to pump to completely empty out after these long spans of time. I have not seen any problems with my supply as a result, but if I have learned anything about bf it's that everyone is different!

    Enjoy your night out! My time away was at Walmart. Blah.

    I went for a pedicure yesterday. Only an hour or two, but it felt so good to get out and have a little grown up time! My boobs were a bit sore when I got home so I fed him right away. Just be sure to wear some breast pads in case you leak ;) Have fun!!!

    I've gone to Target and grocery store (separate trips) and left DD with DH. I time it in between feedings since I'm still working on my supply issues and want to BF as much as possible. We also left DD with MIL for about 45 min while we went to Portillo's for dinner one night. I'm not ready to leave her for long stretches yet.

    I've left my LO to my ILs for an hour or two when SO and I had to run some errands. It's nice to get out of the house. You have milk for them to give and you trust the ppl you're leaving LO with so it shouldn't be a problem. Do you have a manual hand pump? If you do and you're worried about being engorged, you can pump while YH drives.
    Have a fun date night, you deserve to get out for some fun!

    Have a wonderful day night! We have left LO with either my parents or his twice but just for a couple hours so I could get out of the house. Just basically to do grocery shopping and spend some Christmas gift cards. First time LO was two weeks old. I wa so nervous but she slept through everything.
    We want to do a date night thing near valentines day, and drop her off with the in laws for a couple hours which will also be my six week mark if you know what I am saying ;)

    We went out for dinner when DS was 4 weeks old. I have to admit, I enjoyed it and didn't really feel bad about leaving him because my mom watched him. He's FF, so I didn't have to worry about any BF issues.

    I go out a lot and no problems at all. If I go more than 5 hours without pumping, I feel it, but that's a pretty long stretch to be away. Have a great time--it's good for your baby to get used to other people and have happy parents.

    My husband and I had a date night on Saturday and my mom was the babysitter. My little one is 4 weeks. However, at at three weeks, I left LO with my husband and went and got a massage and a pedi/mani. It felt great to get out of the house. So enjoy yourself and don't feel guilty. You deserve it.
